Interesting K5 on ebay

old aftermarket hood.

79-80 square headlight setup swap in.

axle in rear tost. gear oil all over from tubes / center section and also look at ebrake cable hole on left rear oil leaking from it.

and the swampers are so dry rotted at the bead area i dont know if i would even drive on them off road.

but parts wise prob a deal if price was right. but only for parts if i was lookin.

only thing going for it i see for the current price is 74 title in ca. = no smog.

Neat looking truck.

Is that a 80 front end or a round headlight front end with some square headlights cobbled in place. Looks like there's no buckets behind them or surrounds at all.

Looks like the round headlight bezels were modified to fit the squares. I was thinking maybe a Hickey hood. The 1/2 cab conversion for a full hardtop K5 in kinda neat. Still looks like a cheap full top K5 project. Def looks to be right out of the 80`s.

I love that hood! I dont normally like K5's but the half cab conversion/full convertible makes it tolerable. If it only had some fender flares and rear wheel spacers, it would look awesome. This used to be an 80's show truck for sure.

Phelan is pretty close too, If it wasn't a K5, i'd be all over this. Such a pain dealing with all the smog crap.

I remember when that hood came out...it was suppose to let you see a bit better as you were cresting over whatever you were climbing...

It is not a 79-80, the headlight doors are a dead giveaway. 79-80 had a full surround, around the headlight and the turn signal/park light, prior to that is when they had the turn signals separate. Only 80's had square headlights, 79 was round only, and 80 was optional to have square. This truck is sporting round headlight doors that have been cobbled to look like square.

I like the hood, but I wonder how much resistance to flex that adds?

That`s what I thought also. The hood does look cool. I know some guys on here had some interest in the Hickey parts. Cool rig if the $$ is right.

Yeah, I am not bad mouthing it, just pointing out that it isn't a 79-80 front end. I really like the hood, but I also like my 80 square headlights. Now if I could find a hood like that, I would quickly swap it into place with the one I have now that is starting to buckle.

Uhmmmm...crap...trying to remember who but one of the members here has that hood on his truck. Did a LS engine conversion recently. In SoCal...
