Where do you buy a brand new nv4500, besides at the stealership? Thats what he did. I image it was fairly pricey, any idea how much?

He might mean a rebuilt unit. There's several places that rebuild cores and pretty much sell them as new. Some even do a lot of the little upgrades and fixes.

Neat swap. I've seen and heard of a few of those down under in Australia. Even seen a 6.2L in a '80's TTB Ford Bronco down there.

I could see anything that you could swap a SBC into you could put a 6.2 into.
