I was looking in wal mart today, trying to decide what I want to coat the back/inside of my burb with. I also want to coat the wheel wells. What have you used, and how has it held up?
thanks,
James

my duplicolor is starting to chip, has only been about 4 months and its on the inside of my truck... doesnt see to much abuse. If you do it make sure you prep real well, ive heard better things about herculiner however. Have you looked into POR15

I used durabak for the entire floors and sidewalls inside my burb. It has held up really good, but never did a good job of keeping the engine heat out. I've had it in there for about 2 years now.

Has anyone else had problems with duplicolor bedliner chipping? I was kinda excited about trying it out, but surely don't wanna go 50 bucks a gallon on it if its only gonna chip off. The interiour would be nice to coat, but I mainly need to coat my wheel wells with something.
thanks,
James

I'm considering doing this in my Jimmy this summer as well. The only thing I'm worried about are the rust holes in my floor/sidewalls. There's a big crack where my drivers seat mounts and the entire sidewall of the drivers side seatbelt mount is uh, gone....Any suggestions?? I've heard Herculiner is good, but I think it's a bit more expensive. That's what I'm planning on using.

I have used the duplicolor on many things. I do not like it. If you use the sprayer, it takes too much to make it thick. I used the scotchbrite pads for prep once, and sandpaper the next, they all chipped. On the truck I use for hauling, I sprayed the sides with it and put a thick bedmat on the bottom. More for looks than anything else.

Doing Good So Far

My duplicolor interior has held up good. Driver floor has wore thin, But most used spot. Prep is a BIG part I used wire brush on grinder. 3 Gallons Total.

Can you buy herculiner in cans and brush it on, or does it have to be done by some professional company? How much does herculiner cost?
thanks,
James

It is sold in cans and can be brushed on. The average price I've seen the kits sell for is around $90. Thats a gallon with some brushes and other stuff. I think a gallon is supposed to do a 6 ft bed IIRC.
