i was working on my truck the other day and decided iwas was going to fix everyting that was wrong. one thing is that the interior lights do not come on when i open the door. i had aprevios post and was told its most likely the door switch because they work in manual mode. when i got into my truck i couldnt find the switch the ony thing was the seat belt mecanism switch. any help is appreciated

You might have blown a fuse. If your lighter doesn't work, that probably it. The yare on the same circuit, and the short is usually in the lighter.

i know its not the fuse because everythig else works. they even come on when i turn the dimmer switch just not when i open the door. thanks for the input though.

The switch for the lights is on the hinge section of the door, not where the striker is (which is where the seat belt mechanism switch. Look in between the hinges at the front area of the door, that is where you WILL find the pin switch.

With the drivers door open, the switch is just to the left of the parking brake pedal, in the area that's covered by the door when it's closed.
