ok so after swamping my truck, I removed my seat and cleaned out the peanut butter mud. Man was it everywhere... I then proceeded to Rustoleom bed liner in can the inside. I did the floor and it came out pretty good (2 cans). I then last night did the door panels (1 can).

now my truck is a toy.. 3rd vehicle and if breaks can sit so I haven't really finished certain things like putting screws in LOL...

so I have lost all the screws for the gauge cluster cover (to which I need a new one as well)
I also noticed that when I painted the door panels I only had 1 nut holding the pad to the panel. It is hard to explain but if you've seen it you know it.. the bolt is attached to the pad on one end and has the stud where you put that nut that self taps onto it...

so while googling, this got crazy as I see screws for $.25 each to kits...

so has anyone got a good place and what kits work well?

I need all screws for gauge cluster
screws that also go into the pad through the panel (not sure what size it is)
screws that go through pad/panel into metal bracket on door for arm rest
screw that goes through panel where door handle is (that recessed pull bar)
all screws across bottom that screw through panel into the door

I found this and they have kits but I'm lost.

fyi checkout that Rustoleum paint job.. woot lol... fyi also didn't need to be perfect as its a mud truck and this stuff does not spray clean.. sometimes sprays nice then splotchy so there are runs... hah

I don't know what the previous owner used on my truck, but the paint he sprayed on the panels was coming off in big flakes. I was told if panels have ever been touched with Armor All, they have to be baked before painting or it'll never last. The baking evaporates the Armor All out.

I've heard that as well. You can "bake 'em in place" with a heat gun...also makes the panel cozy up to the door a little closer for a better fit.

hah.. I just wiped them down with gasoline (had to keep blowing out the match my wife was trying to set to the truck though)....
then sprayed.. not much done.. no sanding, nothing... just wipe and spray

When you use SEM interior dye to re-color interior panels or seats, they say to use laquer thinner to clean all parts thouroghly,to get rid of any silicone based treatments like Armor-All and other dirt and gunk that will make it not adhere well, and peel off in sheets later on..
It will soften up the plastic quite a bit,and it is important not to use rags with lint or paper towels !..
Gasoline will leave an oily residue behind and is usually not a good choice to prep things with before painting, excepting oil based enamels like Rustoleum..I've used gas a thinner for Rustoleum when I ran out of Naptha,it worked OK,but it did kill the gloss quite a bit..

For spray paint I prefer Dupli-Color. It has a really nice fan pattern that works excellent for getting perfect rattle can paint jobs. You can usually only get real nice coverage for the first 3/4 of a can then it starts getting a crappier spray pattern so I just save the last part of each can for the not so pretty painting jobs.

Small quantities can be had at Lowes in the "drawers" in the hardware section..or at parts stores, they sell blister packs of various sizes and lengths...if your lacking the originals to match up,it may be difficult to find out exactly what size and length they used--a GM parts catalog might be the only source for that info..
If you have a pick & pull nearby, that may be a good place to get some,if just to match up,if they aren't good enough to re-use..

One parts store I worked at that sold body shop supplies stocked boxes of those washer head screws in bulk of 100 per package, they were about $12 a box back in the 90's ..

I think Napa has the packs of trim screws on the rack with the trim clips but I have never matched them up there yet.

It would be nice if you could get them in sets for the doors and the dash as separate kits but I'm sure it would cost a fortune if someone does offer them that way.

We will find out as I have an email into them....the link in my first post.

Yes im missing the originals... there is a steel shop 15 min away. I had to buy 4 grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts. Got them at home depot. Was like $16... i went to steel shop which is per pound and i bought 8lb worth of grade 8 various sizes... $14!!!!!

I like Tractor Supply for nuts & bolts, you shovel some in a sack and weigh them, and pay by the pound..they have grade 2,5,and 8,and none run more than $5 a pound..you can pay $1 each at a hardware store for a bolt,or get a dozen + there--no brainer!--I only wish they offered the same deal for deck screws, those roofing screws with the rubber washered heads, self drilling sheet metal screws, and lag bolts too, those have to be bought in packages or singly..

I bet if you knew the sizes you need, you could buy all of them for under $20 from a NAPA or a body shop supply store--if you do find a place that went thru the effort to identify each screw and assembled them in kit form, you'll pay dearly for that convenience..and hope it covers "all models"!..more than likely different trim packages like "Custom Deluxe" wont be the same as a "Silverado" is,for example..
