Well for the 2nd time in 3 weeks its busted...

what is a strong replacement that i can get to fix this?

its 85 chevy half tonne that has been converted to a 3/4 tonne.

the tires are normal size which worrie's me... cause my 38's will most certainly cause me issues if this isn't solved soon...

lil bit more info.

4" susp and 3" body
10 bolt front
stock steering.

I assume you're talking about the rag joint at the steering box? If so the reason you keep busting them is because of the body lift. Ditch the stock shaft and get the jeep shaft with U-joints and that will solve your problem and also tighten up the steering alot.

Here is the tech article about it. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169874

I would seriously check into aftermarket intermediate shafts instead of the Jeep XJ piece. They will cost a couple hundred bucks, but it will be much better than the XJ piece. I wiped out the rubber coupler in the shaft in my XJ with only 33" tires, so I wouldn't recommend it for a fullsize. Just my $.02.

I stopped by Kar Bashers and it looks like these XJ shafts are in high demand as they'd been removed from all the jeeps there that'd have had one.

I'll look at PYP on the west end when I get the chance. BTW, not looking too likely that I'll be coming your way on Friday. Not sure when that'll happen now...

der ok. hoping to get it on the orad this weekend...

thats if i dont have tot he pull this transmission again.
