I bought a '90 Suburban 2500 today. :saweet::burb::woot:

I was out on the interstate today, cruising around, enjoying the first sun in a week in my new ride, when I hit a small bump in the road, and my speedometer dropped to 0 and cruise turned off. All my other gauges were fine, and the truck ran fine. I took the next exit anyway, and did as much of an inspection as one can do of the engine and rear-end in a parking lot. I didnt see anything obvious, and since home was only a couple more miles down the road, I decided to head home. A couple of minutes later I hit another small bump and my speedo started working again. :doah:

I'm 99% sure that there is an intermittent electrical connection between the tranny and the speedo. Unfortunately I just purchased my FSM on Ebay today, so it's a week or so away. Anyone have suggestions on where to start to look for a loose connection?

Check the VSS plug on the transfer case, if nothing there, you could try the plug on the DRAC, which is under the dash, I want to say near the ashtray on your year truck.

If it isn't the VSS plug, I'd trace those two wires and see if they are in good shape as far as you can.
