i have an 84 k5 with a problem with my turn signals. instead of blinking turn signals, they stay on when i choose a direction. they do not blink. what is failing to cause this?

they turn off normally after completing a turn, but they don't blink. can't think of a clearer way to describe the problem.

believe it or not its prolly just the bulb.
the inside signal idicator stays on right?
yea that happened to me a few years back and it turned out to just be the bulb, the solid indicator light is telling you the bulb is out.

weird i know, but try changing it and i bet it fixy:whistle:

btw, when you liftin that pig dude? :)

i don't know if it is just the bulb. it is for both signals, and the front indicator stays on as well. i can see it in the reflection of the cars in front of me. i'll do some troubleshooting after i get out of this class, i guess. it's brutally hot today.

i might as well add that i had a hunch while i was driving and turned on the emergency flashers and they flashed normally. not sure if that's relevant.

It sounds like the flasher unit.
The emergency flasher uses a different one.
Little silver or gold can plugged in under the dash.
When you find one, turn on the emergency flasher, then grab the one you found. If you can feel it clicking, its the wrong one.
Look for another one.
On some models it is plugged into the fuse block.
Round can, the square ones are circuit breakers.
