Internal Carb Fuel Filter Replacement

Hey guys,
I need to check my fuel filter for performance reasons but I cannot find it... I have a weird holly carb and I assume that the fuel filter is an internal carb type right at the fuel inlet of the carb.

I need to replace the filter. Has anyone done this before? I a little scared that gas is going to spew out when I disconnect the line from the carb (engine off of course).
