Can anyone identify and tell me where this mystery piece goes? I was replacing the turn signal switch and multi function lever and this is what I have left. It jumped out in the process and I did not see where it went...

Dude, how did you even get that piece out? Its normally so far down that people never even see it.
Parts houses don't even list it because its usually easier to replace the whole column than replace it.
In fact, I don't think I have ever even seen one before.

I mean I have literally never seen one. I have no idea what the heck it is.........The only thing I have ever seen that it resembles, is the "key in" buzzer contact for the key switch.

If you have a column mounted key cylinder, you might look around it if its out to see if there is a place it might slide in.

Otherwise, hopefully someone who has had a GM column apart recently will recognize it.
Figured I would reply to keep it bumped up to the first page a little longer.

Ding Ding, we have a winner. There is another plastic piece that sits on top of that and it slides in over the top of the lock cylinder behind the turn signal switch.

Here is a good write-up of assembling a GM tilt steering column. Scroll down to page 50 and you'll see the piece then scroll another page or so to see how and where it goes. http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/images/d/d6/Jazzman_Steering_Rack_Rebuild.pdf

Wow, great link! Downloaded that bad boy myself. I've done them before but without that PDF. This will help a ton.
