Introductions & Greetings

Hi

Hi,
My name is Michael and i have a 77 K-5. Its has a 350/350t and is currently being redone. I have owned it since early May and have red a ton of helpful information on your website and decided to join. I just want to say thanks for all the help i have gotten so far and all the help i will get. Thanks again.

After 5 months of ownership I finally got around to purchasing a membership and wanted to say hello. My name is Brady and purchased my first Blazer back in early February. I bought it with some minor issues, but I got them taken care of. I have been reluctant to put any more work into it until now, since I finally got the registration in my name.

I have already learned alot from this forum and hope to continue to do so.

Here are some pics of my blazer:

Welcome (again probably) :D

That's a sweet looking truck, clean & no rust is getting rare. :pimp:

Thanks! I should have put a disclaimer up, those pics were after a wash and wax! It does have some rust, but for a '77 it is very minimal. Everyone tells me they can't believe how good shape it is in, but I just wish I could have got it before the P.O. bought it and just let it sit out in the weather for 3 years.

Just purchased an 88 K5 Rock crawler that I will be using for backup transportation and as a weekend warrior/camping/boat pulling/snow driving/climb over traffic toy. Previous owner added a 4 inch lift(leaf spring lift), 33's, 4.11 gears(havnt cracked the diffs to check yet) upgraded front and rear posi units and new hubs. Has some minor body damage but that is expected and some common rusty spots like the front quarter panels and around the back tailgate and floorpan. No major holes though or really bad spots that I have seen yet. Tons of info on the site and look forward to restoring the K5 back to a more solid and newer looking condition.

1971 Blazer

New to the board. My name is Eric and I have a 1971 Blazer with a fuel injected 496. It has a 6 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift sitting on 38.5 ground hawgs.

Hi new to K5's but have had a chevy truck for about 2 years now. The K5 is an 89 with 6" lift and 35's. The truck is an 86 with 4" lift and 33's. will upload pic when i figure out how to.

This is my CUCV 1987 K5 Military Blazer that I just built. It has a 6inch lift, 35 inch MTZ tires on 15x14 Alcoa wheels, some lighting, amber strobe warning lights, 6.2l diesel, air conditioning, onboard air compressor, power inverter with 110v outlets, a firearms storage safe, custom stereo. I built this as a daily driver and a tow vehicle for my off road and other race vehicles. I am in the process of turbocharging the motor and adding 4 more inches of lift and 38.5 inch tires on 1 ton Custom CUCV 14/Dana 60 axles. After building many Blazers over the years, I finally decided to build one just for me to drive daily.

I'm new to the forum and looking to find information on K5's so I have a bit of knowledge when I go to purchase one. I wanted to buy a jeep wrangler for a long time to do some mild off road driving but then a friend of mine introduced me to K5's. I haven't looked back since . I'm looking to do a small lift and probably run 35" tires, but reliability is key because this will be my daily driver and I plan on making this truck last a long time. I can't wait to get my first K5 and I look forward to learning from the experienced people on this forum.

Thanks,
Clay

That's a good lookin' ride, Sharky!

Great truck, man! If/when I have room in my driveway, I want a more fun off-roader. Unfortunately, I am limited to one vehicle.

Nice job!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I have several off road rigs and this being my daily driver, I try to keep it as reliable as possible while trying to make it comfortable to drive also. It still runs the 24 volt military system which I like because I can still jump start heavy equipment with 24 volts and still have 12 volts on the secondary side. I have one of those quick disconnect terminals on the front grille guard(red thing on the brush guard) so I can run tow truck style jumper cables without having to open my hood. Having a large inverter with the 24 volts system makes it nice so I can run 110v tools and lights when I need them. I also have a quick disconnect air coupler on the rear for my air inflator and air tools. Inside, I carry enough hand tools to get most jobs done. So it serves as a personal emergency roadside response vehicle when needed.

It is a great combination as is. I use it to travel to hard to get job sites to check on my bulldozers and excavators.

Hello from NC. Just picked up a (supposedly) stock 74 Blazer and figured I would join so I could make informed decisions about this beauty. Current thought process is to make it my weekend ride/beach buggy, so nothing drastic will be done to it, for now. Current plans are to fix the rot, new springs, throw some 33s or maybe 35s under it and maybe swap in a 700r4 and np205, 208 or 241 and then just enjoy it.
