Introductions & Greetings

My name is James from British Columbia, and I have owned two blazers in my life. My first one was stolen years ago, and I never got to do what I wanted in terms of a build because my time was stopped short. Fast forward 5 years later and I bought another one. My first was mostly stock, but I had big plans, but because it was stolen they didn't come to fruition, so my second came with all the features I wanted to make up for lost time. One ton, big tires, strong engine. I love my k5. It's one of my passions. I was never a big gear head, but the k5 speaks to me and says all the right things for me to spend all the quality time it needs at almost no expense. Seriously though, I plan on doing a lot more work, as there's a lot of loose ends to cover.

Welcome James I live south of the border and looking for project myself to build up into a Search and Rescue vehicle, looking at a couple later this week. Hope you got sun today too.

Hey Guys,

New member(s) from N Ga. Myself and my soon to be 16 year old son that just got his first vehicle, a 1986 K10 short bed. It is rust free and very strait. It is not running, has been sitting for around 10 years. He is really excited to start working on it and get it going. This is a great website, I have lurked here off and on for years. Glad to finally join and be part of the crew.

In the Utah market

Hey guys, just joined the forum and wanted to say, "Hi." My first vehicle was a '71 K5, and when I was hurting during the early years of my marriage, I let it go for $500. I've grown up (a little) and now I'm ready to get back in. What I'd like to find is a '71 or '72 that needs a little love, but something that I can drive for a year or so while I collect my supplies (sand blaster, decent 7" grinder, straight sander, etc.). I searched all over the web, and this looks like the place to be. Anyway, that's enough about me. I'm going to get back to lurking the subs!

Hello guys!!

Well I've been lurking around for a week or so checking out all the good info because I just got my 85 K5. I've been wanting one for years and now was the time. Per the previous owner it's got 350/700r4/NP208/4.11 and a 6" suspension, 3" body rolling on 18.5/39-15. The tranny and 208 are rebuilt along with the front axle including new locking hubs. The interior need a little love but all in all I am very very happy with my purchase.

So far all I have done is a complete front brake job from the hoses to the pads and everything in between. I also threw on a new steering stabilizer....for now. I need to figure out which dual setup will be the best for my truck because with these tires it wants to walk around a little.

Check it out and let me know what y'all think.... good or bad you're not gonna hurt my feelings.

I like that orange. There's just something about an orange K5. :D

Don't waste your time with more steering stabilizers, they are band aids to hide real problems. Save your money and find a set of one tons and do a cross over steering conversion to better control those tires.

Like Brian said witht the steering issue. Those wide tires are going to follow every grove in the road. Also, take the bumper off and go drive it. That 400lbs hanging off of the front makes a huge difference.

New (kind of) here too. Never posted up but beem a paying member for a couple years. I'm in Hemet, CA - Got a 90 Suburban - lift, recently did headers - no cat no muff (right now anyway)... I did the quick release door hinge mod... but not really sure how it looks... lol I'll get some pics posted

Hello my name is Peter, and I own a 2001 F150 all stock except for the rims. And my a trailblazer which my wife uses. I love to do some Diy stuff and detailing.

Hello ~ Just signed up today.

Drove a 1989 K5 in high school and college. Parted with when I had no room to park it. Recently sold my 74 bronco and have been looking for another K5.

Came across a 90 in primer. Looking for some guidance on price.

Paint should cost 3-4k for something decent if the body is straight. The motor runs, truck is rust-free as the owner says...but I have heard these lies before.

I was thinking if I could score it for ~2k, I should have money to paint and lift it and not get too far upside down. I have a set of 17" wheels and 35's for it.

Sound about right? I know without pictures this is worthless. I will see it later in the week.

Just got back from seeing the truck and it was rough. Needed paint, full interior, wheels, tires and chrome. Guy was stuck at $4500.

I will keep looking.
