howdy

whats up. my names is sean. alot of people call me t-bone... call me what ever you want. i live in spring, texas which is just outside if houston. my daily driver is a 2001 mk4 volkswagen gti.. its pretty dialed but my project is a 88 gmc v1500 suburban which is my old daily before gas and repair got the best of me. now im just starting to do stuff to it i never could do with it before. just about to do the lift (6inch) among some other goodies and just clean it up. im a long time stalker of CK5 for years now but just decided to go ahead and do it. my vw car club is europeanAG.com if yall wanna check it out. i know owning a burban and a golf sounds wierd but i like anything with 4 wheels. i should be on from time to time... see yall on the boards. :laugh:

Hello, my Names Brenton, I just bought a 85 K5, well, Jimmy with Chevy grille lol. I got my first 4x4 at 16, a '97 Nissan only year they dropped the 6er and was only a 4cylinder In them. I bought a '07 JK brand new, and it was great offroad but if it rained a lot, then I'd expect 2inof water in my front floorboards and some in the back, and that's what I got. I traded that on my '08 Hemi that now pulls my new rig. It has a newer 350, granny 4, 6in lift, 38.5 TSL's, and is in decent shape for the $600 I gave for it. I put the tires on and that's it. It has 10bolt front and rears and has extra front and rear ends, and a extra T-case, and front fenders also, because the ones on it are cut up. Not a bad $600 for a 4x4 I have wanted sense I started driving. I'd post more and some pics but this iPhone is difficult lol. I hope to see a few people from my state.
 
74 about to go 3/4 ton

Hey, new to the site and its great. I'm in Jefferson Oregon and getting ready to swap the front and rear out of a stock 77 3/4" SUB into a semi stock 74 blazer. The blazer is a basket case rust hunk off craigslist, but its a project for me and my oldest boy to do together. We just pulled the body off the Blazer so we could clean up the frame and replace the floorpans...this is our first time doing a body off project so its been interesting especially in the family garage.
I appreciate the details in this web site and found it trying to catch some instructions on doing the axel swap. This is an adventure and we cant wait to get our 74 into a new lift paint tires wheels motor, etc etc.....we are doing our part to "stimulate" the economy by restoring a great rig...when are they gonna pay us a check for that??? Dont hold your breath...

I just bought a 72 blazer and am looking for people to bounce ideas off of. I am looking to build a cage for it and am looking for ideas. My blazer has no hard top and I am looking for one in the southern Cal. region for a minimal price. I have many plans for it now, but as you all know it take $, so for now I am on hold. I just purchased some 2003 suburban seat that have the seat belts already in the seat and am looking to redo the entire interior to my flavor. My rig has a tune port injection motor out of a 1988 corvette and a 700r tranny. It has a decent blue paint job. It has the 4 inch lift with 33s and sits and drives very nice. I baught it to take the family on small excursions but nothing too major. This is my first time owning a 4x4 and I wanted to get a classic. If anyone has any ideas they want to push my way, the more the merrier.

Whats up members I have had my 83 k5 for 4 yrs not my first one and not my last it has a 6in suspension with 39.5 18.85 15 3/4 ton axles and its my daily driver and she is not a pavement princess
 
my name is zach im from lawton oklahoma, i got a 78 k20 torn down to the frame now...and a 84 crew cab is going onto it with a 4in shackle flip in the rear with 52'' rear springs in the front

Newbie here. I just bought an '85 K5. Pretty stock - currently running on 33's. I intend to raise it up 6-8 inches and put some tires on it that compliment the lift nicely. I paid about $2100 less than I budgeted for so I've got some mod money laying around. Going to drive the truck for a while to be sure nothing needs fixed on it before I start spending the money. In the end, I want a weekend toy that I can drive around town if I need to. The only highway it will normally see would be on the way to the trails.

I live in NW Arkansas, Rogers to be exact.

This isn't my first Blazer - I had a '76. 6" lift running on 35" Super Swampers. I actually sold that rig, bought it again from someone else a few years later, and sold it again a few years ago. I've been looking for a good Blazer and I think patience paid off.

My other rides are: 2006 SRT-8 Dodge Charger (425 HP Stock!!), 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4, and 2006 Honda VTX1300C. + a few 4 wheelers for me and the family.

Looking forward to the wealth of information from the members here. I used to read here alot when I had the '76 but I never registered.

Also looking for people and places to go playing in the mud around here. I know of a few, but with the ice storms we had in January, many of them are closed.

Picing up my new C30 Military CUCV Longbed truck this week from the local Navy base here in Jacksonville, FL. I have my 46x19.50R20 Baja claws already to go on my new DC1 20x12" wheels. I plan to use the truck for advertising at the local mud holes and infront of my shop on University Blvd... I am putting 20" springs all around and plan on putting an exocage on it and across the bed w/ racing seats in the back for mud bathing. As a Veteran, I really like the OD green CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Compound) camo Govm't paint job! I will Rhino Liner the bed and tailgate and may add some green stobe lights just to be different. I just hope the ugly bastard runs cuz I aint no 24 volt expert.
 
Hey there gang, My name is Michael Palmer (1971 GMC Jimmy) and I just purchased my first 1971 Jimmy in original condition 148K, 350, AC, and lots of work ahead of me. I told the wife it is for my daughter when she gets her license in a years time, so I have time to do some work. I mainly let my mechanic do to heavy stuff anymore but this forum may be what I need to get better aquatinted with my Jimmy. Its been on my list since high school (30 years Back) and I'm looking forward to the support team here. Not sure how to include a picture but its in pretty good condition for something nearly 40 years old. I have a laundry list to start with including a steering box and brake booster.

hey everybody im a newbie to this site but not 4x4 sites im on a couple of them, so i live in washoe valley nevada, and i have a 1979 chevy blazer, i have had it since 1998 and my mom had bought it new in 1979, its still pretty much stock except for some 31's but it will have a lift on it soon enough, im only going 4 or 6 inches with some 35 inch tires. i really liked boggers but im just going to get some AT's or maybe some toyos open countrys or something along those lines.

This seems like an active and freindly community, thanks for having me. I am currently driving an 06 Dodge/Cummins, it's a great truck but a bit large. I'm at work this week and my buddy comes rolling in with this K5 Jimmy I knew he had purchased but had not seen yet.
I walked out and started looking at it and started to fall in love all over again. You see I had owned a 73 Blazer years ago and out of all the trucks I've owned (many) that was probably my favorite. It doesn't make practical sense to me because I haven't owned this Dodge even 6 months. I love the Diesel power and the 1 ton rating but this Jimmy is SCREAMING:crazy: my name. Now I'm starting to have Cummins-powered K5 fantasies. :eek1:Who knows what is going to happen now.

I got a 3 inch body lift and easily clear some off brand 35's. The truck has a rebuild 350 and someone recently did a paint job and took some time to make the interior nice. As best I can figure I have 10 bolt diffs with 3.73's. I'd really like to upgrade those. I'll post some pics as i figure out how.
 
Hey, found this site the other night while looking for some K5 info. I'm in the Denver area and spend a lot of time fishing/camping/4-wheeln' in the Rocky Mountains close by. I purchased a 76 K5 Blazer that is in fairly rough shape body-wise, but has a strong, low mile rebuilt 400 in it. I'm gonna flat-black it out and do a little work on it here and there, but I just plan on driving and enjoying it for the summer. I plan on checking this forum for info as I start to work on it in the next few months.

hey my name s Jesse i live in co ive been building my 78 k5 blazer for two years now,after wanting one for ever. so far ive put 5.13 gears ,,detroit in back of 14 ff ,rear disc brake conv.,6'' suspension lift,lots a fender and sheet metal trimming,swapped the heavy blazer t-gate 4 a pick up t-gate(much lighter),gutted all th ol carpet an sprayed rhino lining,moved batt. inside cab,put d-60 with powertrax lockright in front with a pcp cover,47''superswamper ltbs(hence th sheetmetal removal:laugh:,hydro assist from redneck ram,350(with tbi conversion) an headers,MM 12000lb winch,4point rear cage(working on a cab over exo),still useing th 203 w/2 wheel kit(dont really like th crappy 1.96 lo range on rocks)thm 350 w/transpak kit is great,next yr atlas 3.0 and bb chevy swap:laugh: that ll be sweet!I Also put crossover steering up front no high steer(tie rods arnt expensive lol),ord zero rate spgs in back jus 4 leveling right now.cherry bombs welded right to headers sounds pretty good,i never really get done with building my k5 and for me its almost as fun upgradeing it as it is wheelin it!looking 4 ward to moab an alot a great trails here in co this year!
 
Hey everyone. New K5 Blazer owner here. Been looking for a while and finally found a good deal on a diesel.

Here's the details:

1983 Blazer k5, 6.2L diesel, automatic. Everything is stock. Body is in really good condition, couple dents biggest is about 3", and one missing trim piece on the passenger side. No, rust as the truck has been a Boise ID resident its entire life. 180,000 miles but has been meticulously maintained. The log book on this guy is amazing, every fuel fill up with mileage and price, service repairs, etc... In amazing detail.

Does need a bit of work on the steering and a bit of a hard starting issue which I think will be easy to remedy, hopefully:)

Anyway, off to ask a question or two.
