New to the Club

What's up all. Just thought I would introduce myself and my new Toy. I picked up a 78 Blazer about 2 months ago. The Blazer was kept in a guys garage for the last 15 years, besides the mold it is in pretty good condition. I have driven it around on the weekend and my Girlfriend is using as a daily driver back and forth to work.

Well this past weekend we started to break it down, We have started on the interior and working our way out. Hopefully when her new car gets here in August, we are going to tear the engine down in the Blazer. As soon as I get enough posts, some pictures of the beast.

Anyway, Thanks in advance for all of the help I hope to receive here. Also, I know that this is a K5 site, but if any of you are owners of a Chevy Avalanche check out the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club.

Hey Guys, Salt-Man here (Rick Salter) I now own a 79 4x4 short bed Scottsdale and a 78 Ford Bronco, I love 70's era short wheel base 4x4's, it does not matter who made them,
I live in Upstate Ny by Niagara Falls and I look forward to learning as much as I can about my new baby, Thanks....Rick (Salt-Man)

Hey all my name is Matt, I'm from CT and I am currently a student at UConn as well as an IS admin/draftsman. I just bought a 1985 K5 Blazer, 305 with the Quadrajet, 3.73 ratio, a cherry top, and an impeccable interior. Unfortunately I also just permanently laid to rest my 1988 full size Jimmy, my first vehicle... a sad day. Bascially my love stems from the ability to drive over **** the rest of my friends can't and the need to pour more gas than I can easily afford into my engine (in keeping with my love of muscle cars). Found the site looking for an exterior tire mount and learned it had much much more to offer!

Matt

Hi there. My name is Jenn and I am new on this board but not new to Blazers. I grew up with them and just a few months ago I got a 75 of my own. Nothing fancy but is going to be a great project and so far she runs like a champ. Right now I am in the process of taking down the paint and repainting.
I am in the So Cal area (Riverside)

Hey jenefor Im in riverside too. I have an 88 k5. Are you doing your own paint or are you having a shop do it?

I am painting it myself. right now it looks like a mess. And all the rain isn't helping matters. However I am working panel by panel bringing it down to the metal. Soon it will be a nice black satin.:D
