Introductions & Greetings

Hey guys been lurking here for a little bit. I just bought a 1985 extended cab GMC that has 9 inches of lift and has some 35's on it now but soon to have 38's. It's got an aluminuim headed small block topped by a TPI and a 700r4 trans. I have replaced all the rusty body panels with rust free stuff.Iwill post up some pics later if I can figure it out.

Intro

My name is Brok, I'm from south Louisiana and just bought a 1972 K5 with a 350, Dana 44 front and 12 bolt rear. Everthing seems stock on the truck. Im looking to spend the coming years fixin her up. I'm currently trying to figure out my gear ratios.

Hey all, I am just gettin into the K5 scene but the bug bit me and my friend pretty hard!!
I picked up a running but rolled 1988 K5 and have been working on making it a beauty again. Its kinda of a heap right now with parts off all years, but its coming together!! :D

Another new guy.

I don't know where I've been all this time, but I am sure glad to have found this site.

Well, it's time. My Big Blue needs some love and I've been out of the hardcore 4x4 world for a few years now and am in need of some guidence.

Big Blue is a 90 K5 that is almost all stock, except for new springs all around and some 33's under it. The reason I found this site is, I am looking for a new output shaft (np241) if I remember correctly. Plus, I was wondering what the real life pros and cons of a slip yoke eliminator are? I am not ruling out a total change out of the tcase, but as always I must consider the cost.

My wife says I need to figure out what it will take to change out the axles to something stronger. Then I said, OK! What year(s) of 1 ton axles will swap in "easily"?:D

Thanks. Glad to be part of this.

Hi Don here I'm enjoying the site ihad to sell my 87 k5 and am looking at getting rid of what's left of my 86. Hate to see them go it took me a long time to get them but don't have room.

My name is Clint and I just joined, looks like a great place to meet people, see other blazers and custom builds and find parts. I own a 84K5 I've had for 4 years and I am always making improvements or trying new things I build on it. I live in Bagdad Arizona and work at the local open pit copper mine here. The closest city is Prescott which is a little more than an hour away so we don't have to go far and we're in the hills. I grew up 4 wheeling and my parents were members of the Phoenix 4 Wheelers. I'm a diehard GM owner and thats all I own.

Greetings!

Hello everyone! Jesse from Waukesha here..last time I was in here was a year or better ago, looong story but Im back and life has turned around alot since then! (aka Wicked 86). Anyhoo..my 86 K5 has been brought home and will soon be operational. Current upgrades are 4.11s and a new distributor w/ MSD wires. This sit is without a doubt the best place to find answers or compare notes. Glad to be back and pics to come..Cheers! :waytogo:

welcome aboard!

You can't see attachements because you have to be a paying member. Alot of people link their pics from photobucket and other sites however, so the registered users can see them too. It won't be long and you'll find this site is worth the $25 membership for the wealth of knowledge and advice available.. it'll actually save you money in the end! :thumb:

Ok...My name is Jack, and here goes a little about me.

New to the forum of course, but i've been reading it for years, Just bought my first k5 about 2 years ago, and other than a couple necessary repairs, it hasn't moved much and i've only wheeled it a couple of times.

I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, but builder/fabricator is my hobby. I built rock crawlers for about 5 years and then got rid of mine that i put about 15k into then decided to buy this 85' K5 Blazer.

I'll probably write more details up later, but i'm joining the site now to be a supporting member and gain as much knowledge as i can before i get back from my deployment so i can finally build this blazer the way it should have been built the first time (AKA minus the crappy blocks and body lift hack job crap.) so as soon as i figure out how to pay, i'll be joining so i can enjoy the fruits of everyone else's labor.

BTW my 85' is lifted (i don't know how much, but big enough to clear 42's with cut fenders) 400sbc bored .030" to 406 39.5" tires on 16.5" rims nothing special, just a bucket of bones.

I'm sure i'll have questions, but i'll try to keep them in one general area, and use the search feature in the forums as best i can!

Thanks

Oh and btw fellas...here's a picture of my blazer...more in my gallery
