Introductions & Greetings

I am a long time chevy owner but usually focus on full size jeeps for projects. I am thinking of pulling my one tons and 40's out of the jeep and throwing them in a k10. Just snooping around for ideas!

Hi guys my names Donnie I'm a die hard Chevy/Buick fan. I own an 85 Chevy 'Burban, formerly 6.2,with an 89 350 w/drilled out Edelbrock intake and Holley 650(inlaw helper/act of desperation) bolted to a 5 year new 700r4 diesel spec'd tranny which I bought just before the Hummer motor died and diesel hit 4 bucks a gallon. Nothing rad or fancy I use it for my drywall business. I'm giving it a facelift with an 89 Quad headlight front clip and reverse engineering 6 years of Ceciltucky engineering done by the above mentioned inlaw helper. My first work truck was a 72 Skylark 455 . I live in Maryland where steam in the summer and salt in the winter does a number on vehicles. I've lurked in the forum a bit and decided to join in. This is an excellent source of info AND a refuge from Ford pickups:thumb:

Hello everyone! I'm looking at purchasing a 1990 Chevy Suburban 1500 with the 6.2 diesel and wanted to do some research before I jumped in! If I don't get it I will be getting a 1977 3/4 ton Chevy, so I'll be looking for advice on here either way!

New to the K5 World

Good Evening all,

I'm new to the Chevy crowd (K5) I used to have a 75 Ford Bronco (crawler) that was lost in a divorce. As the saying goes, all things end and new ones begin. So this is what I'm starting out with 1977 k5 Blazer 350 w/turbo350 /NP205 pretty much all stock including the usual rust spots.

Mods to include,
one ton axles from maybe a mid 70's to mid 80's truck
lockers
rust repair
Atlas 4spd
6" lift don't know which vendor yet
and a bunch of garage time this winter, and as funds are saved

Look forward to learning

David

HI I am Craig from Presque Isle Maine. I have had an 87 K5 Silverado Blazer for ten years but due to rust she is at an end. I just got an 88 M1009 CUCV 6.2 Diesel Military Blazer with 22,300 miles. It is soild and has no rust or dents. It has has had a couple of woods rides already and last night passed a jeep wrangler with a 4" lift, 33's and lockers f and r going up a mud/dirt pit wall. The jeep guy is not happy! I however am!!! Looking forward to talking with you all about the K5.

Hey Everyone,
Just picked up a 73 K5 yesterday in great condition and I can't wait to start digging into this site and finding projects to do. Body is straight, no rust, and a perfect motor so for the first while I will probably be focusing on the interior which is a mess. 6 inch suspension with a 3 inch body but I will probably pull the body lift out at some point as I don't necessarily trust them.

Anyway, time to go check out some posts on swapping seats from late model chevy's.

Thanks for running such a great forum!

John

New from Texas

Hello, my name is Tim and we are from Texas. I bought this 1984 Jimmy for my 16 year old. It has a Vortec 350 with 350 trans. We have many upgrades in the near future. My son is saving money for the dent he put in the passanger door and the bent rear bumper.....not even from offroading. I am looking for a 70-75 Blazer/Jimmy for myself. Cheers
