Hello my name is Corey and I'm from Las Vegas, NV. I'm a new member to ck5 but have been around it since 2001. My friend has been a member since then. I went to UTI Phoenix where I got my degree in auto and diesel. I worked a while in the diesel industry but moved on the real estate due to the slowing economy. I race in a class 1600 buggy in different desert racing series. As for trucks currently I have a 2010 Chevy 2500HD, CC, SB, 4x4, Duramax, and am looking at purchasing a 1980 K5 in January.

nother newb soon to be paid member

Whats up, My names rick. I've visited the site a few times looking for info on my projects. I figured I'd introduce my self. I'm currently about half way through a 72 blazer ground up resto. Its a father son project that my 15 year old is actually building as his first vehicle. I give advise strength and motivation but he's doing the work. More to come on that when I pay up. Working on his made me jones so I got rid of a 2008 tundra and bought my own 85 blazer. Its destined as a full on coilovered rock crawler. His is first though. Well I hope to get to know a bunch of you soon, till then later.

Well, technically my second post...

Hey all,

Just rolled home last night in a 1990 K5. All white Arizona truck. Super high miles on the body (263K), but unbelievably clean. Engine and tranny are at about 60K. Quite a bit of other basic upkeep done as well. Totally stock, and that's good for now. Just gotta get to know her and make sure she's fundamentally happy and totally reliable.

Did great on the Interstate (all things considered). I'm still shaking my head how all the interior and controls are so tight with that many miles on the odometer.

Probably build towards a nice "gentleman's" rig with a 2-3" lift, appropriate rubber for Colorado snow, get the spare out of the interior, some sort of lockers, that kind of thing. Gonna keep my aspirations limited in the short-term so my $lu$h fund is available for the usual new/old vehicle shenanigans.

Anyhow, best, and thanks a million for all the info here that really helped in my vehicle search.

Hello Everyone I'm New

Hello, My name is Christian. I own a 87 black K5 with 114,000 original miles on it.
The blazer has been in my family since it was new, and I have done all the work to it. MY family owns a farm, feed, seed, and fertilizer store here in middle GA and we do all our own mechanical work on our equipment, so I do all my own work on my rigs. About the only thing I will not tear into is the transmission. I have been threw the front and rear ends, transfer, steering and engine. It came from the factory 305TBI, and I have just put a 4 bolt 350 bored 40 over on TBI in it. I take a lot of pride and joy in her. I put a lot of work and up keep in her to keep her road worthy, but I am not scared to dive her off in a deep mud hole or pull something twice her size on the farm. I am new to a forum, but not new to computers or electronics. I am a little lost on here right now, but I catch on fast. Maybe The pics I have will up load, Feel free to ask about anything I have done, I can answer it all, from the TBI to the gears... Thanks

sledheadak told me to come here, you can blame him.

I'll probably be on the Eureka trip in my '85 CUCV.

That is all :D

my name is joe & im new to this forum. i am a chevy dealer so i love anything with a SBC in it. i have done a lot of projects this year...i put a SBC in a 99 wrangler with a 6" longarm kit, locked, etc, etc, a cherokee with a SBC/TH400/205...im tired of trying to stuff a v8 in things that didnt come with them factory. so i revived my old 91 K5 & plan on making a woods/huntin buggy. i believe that a man that quits playing with toys is a man who no longer likes to have fun. :dunno:

Another Noob!

I'd love to say I own my dream '72 Blazer but it's not in the cards, yet. I needed something that could haul so I added a '89 V3500 3+3 to my list of rigs. So kinda like a Blazer front & a pickup rear . It's was a OFS rig, about as plain-jane as you can get: tbi350/465/205 D60/14ff heavy sob on 33"tires on 16.5" rims, 10mpg but I love it; except the low mpg. Maybe you can help me with that. I've put on rear discs and plan on a 4" lift and 35's and locker in front.

I am new to this site. I am glad I found it. I have a 1990 GMC K1500 and am looking to turn it into a 1972 model. At least from the outside. Does any one know what i can turn thi truck into: Blazer or Shortbed which wouldrequire less frame work. Thanks in advance for the help!!! I am glad to have found this site as I start this Cool project.
