Introductions & Greetings

New guy here, I've been a long time lurker and decided I had to join this great forum. This forum has some of the best info around for GM truck people. My name is Rich and I live in So. Cal. My 3 sons and I have been motorcyle riding and four wheelin in the local moutains and deserts for years now. Soon I will be buying back my 89 2500 suburban from a guy I sold it to about 5 years ago. The sub has a 6in lift, 35's, 4:10 gears, new engine and tranny and a little more rust. The guy has not driven it for 2 years now so now its time for me to buy my old ride back. Once again great forum and I look forward to sharing info with all of you.

Finally a forum dedicated to fullsize chevys.

I owned many differents 4x4s but I just picked up my first K5. It's 84' 350/700r4 and the rest is el stocko. I'm sure ya'll know the drill.

I can't wait to get into it and start the upgrade process but I'm open to opinions and some do's and dont's, especially if it will save me money. Right now I'm looking into a CUCV on a government liquidation website that sells military surpluss items to the public. i have found a few CUCVs and after I do the research I'm sure I'll know which one is the better of the models.

Thanks

Welcome! Always good to see another Gulf Coaster on here. :thumb:

Hello my name is Todd and I live in Orange County CA. I just purchased a 75 K5 Blazer that has a 6" lift with 37" tires and I love it. I hope to meet and make friends with other members who love classic blazers and trucks.

Pictures? Please...

New guy here, name's Jake. Currently in IL, but going to be Afganistan bound in a few months. Heard about this site from another forum. My truck is an 86 Blazer(CUCV) 6.2 NA Diesel, TH400, all stock stuff from the military except new tires and civilian glow plugs. Just working on keeping it running and a commuter until I can make it the rig I want. Mostly on here for info and inspiration. See you guys around.

New member from ABQ, NM here. Picked up an 81 Jimmy this past fall. The only mod I've done so far is a soft top. I'll mainly be using it to haul my dirt-bike and for camping, mixed with hitting the dirt and hills for fun. I'll be posting a PITA "help me" thread shortly, lol. Just gotta get my five posts to put up pics. Looking forward to tapping in to the CK5 Hive-Mind.

Iirc, as a non subscribing member, you should have access to post & reply in the Garage, Feedback, Test, ORD and vendor forums as well as reply to For Sale forum posts.

Edit: you will need, I think, 5 posts before you can post any pics (this is to prevent spamming).

Are you wanting to buy or build tube doors? If buy, then look in the vendor forum for a post from the vendor Diy4x . If you're wanting to build, look for a sticky thread towards the top of the list in the Garage forum.

Welcome to the site. :thumb:

Newbie!

Hey! My husband and I are restoring an 84' K5 Blazer and making it into an offroad beast and bug out vehicle! We are super excited about this project! We love offroading and love anything to do with the outdoors! But I need a little help. He's been talking about making his manual rear window to power. His birthday is coming up and I thought I'd go buy the parts for it. Do I need to buy a whole tailgate or will our manual tailgate accept a power motor and regulator? Thanks in advanced!
