My name is william .I live in croswell mi,I need other peoples opinion .Would you buy an 99 gmc jimmy loaded with 100k on it or a 87 gmc jimmy full size with 4wd, all original from arozona, needs two window regulators,it has 187k on it clean.i need someone elses opinion ,there the same price.have you had any problems with your trucks thanks william.

Will your talking about two diff. Worlds what's your plans for your rig. What's ur mechanical level are you will to fab stuff up or pay for it? I will snap pics for yall later today.

Yea i love it , all original but i am just worried about the engine since it is a 305. Is it worth it to work on that or should i really do the 350 swap ? if i were to invest 2000 dollars into it , what would you do ?

If the 305 runs good I would personally leave it alone...Search arround in the garage and you will find tons of different things that people have done

Another Hello from Another New Guy

I'm David From Middleburg,Fl where the ground is relitivaly flat. I've gto 89 Blazer, Scottsdale formaly a Wildlife Officer truck. It has the 6.2, TH400 (i think), 3.08 gears with an Eaton posi in rear (I know cause that's what I put back in when I rebuilt it in 07), 6" lift with 315x75x16 Pro-Comp's on 16x10 steel rims. It had 38 Swampers when I got it in 07, but I prefer the smaller tires cause it gets 25.5 MPG instead of 17 on 38's. Futrue plans call for paint ( I like the darker green on the last couple of Trailblazers I've seen) and fixing the AC.

David, welcome, do yourself a favor and pay up for a membership, what you will learn and find here is priceless. South Florida kid here myself.

Hello all,

My name is John and I have 71 K5 that I've built from a 70 & 71. It is all stock pretty much except for a Ramjet 350, 700R4, Fuel Tank, some lift and tires... No bolt was left unturned and it has taken a slow path over the past 10 years. I'm hoping to get some great advise and information on making it as sweet as possible! :waytogo:

Hi
My name is Chad and i just got a rusted 86 gmc jimmy for hunting and fishing,
I'm thinking about putting a cab and a flatbed on it now that i've read some of the builds. I see i will get alot of great information on this forum.

new member in Philadelphia...

Hello. My name is Derrick and I am from Philadelphia. I have a 1980 K5 Blazer with a modified 350ci engine, factory axles, np465 tranny, and factory transfer case. I am trying to get the truck back on the road and need some rocker panel and floor work done. I want to do the work myself, but lack the tools and know-how. Are there any members in the Philly area that want to stop by for some beer and bbq? My neighbor has a Grand Wagoneer and an Early Bronco and we bbq almost every weekend, rain or shine. Get with me if you are in the area of 5th and Cheltenham.
Thanks...

m1008 bone stock

Hi all. I'm Joe from Halifax, PA. I have a bone stock m1008. want to gather as much info as possible about modifying it. want to go either 4 or 6 in. of lift. 35's or 37's. either rear spring lift or block. not sure if i'll need crossover steering. etc. etc. it's not my DD. and will be used for an all around pick up, towing my jeep, hauling coal/firewood. maybe a banks sidewinder turbo and built 700r4. any shoves in the right direction are much appreciated!!

Welcome Joe, what your budget? You want this thing to go down the road like a Caddy or does it matter? How does she run and how many miles does she have?

Well I earlier introduced myself to the South East Regional forum and figured I would do the same for everyone on here. Seems so far this is a cool place to hang out so far.

Hello all, just joined last night, and looking forward in the next month or so to purchasing a K5 as I just got rid of a 94 Blazer F/S due to having neck surgery. As soon as my surgeon releases me to drive, I am quickly buying one and off to a build thread. So look out for me to be doing a build soon, in the mean time I am going to be reading up here and getting some great ideas.

About me, I am a disabled Airborne Vet of 12 yrs and was injured during the first few months of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. I am soon to be 42 yrs old, and been a wheelin, camping, and fishing family guy all my life.

Been a Ford Bronco man all my life until I bought my first F/S Blazer last yr, and now looking for a K5 this time. Bronco's and Blazer's are generally the same concept, except for the TTB vs SA up front and cosmetic differences. But, damn did I like that 94, but now I want a K5. Here is a pic of the 94 I got rid of before I had my surgery.
