Introductions & Greetings

Hey my name is Andrew and I am somewhat new to wheeling since i do not own a 4x4 but I like to drive trucks and have gone rockcrawling and mudding with friends. I currently do not own a k5 but I plan on getting one and saw this site as a good way to learn what I need in order to get started.

Its the best place for that :thumb:

Hey im Wyatt, I live in Virginia and am a junior in high school. First vehicle is my 87 K5! I am always looking for new stuff to do and currently have a pretty nice stack of cash saved up and want to get something new for the rig! Ive heard about this site and am happy to finnaly try it out, will have to get a membership later!

My name is Marc, I am seventeen, my dad just bought me a 1986 gmc jimmy sierra classic, I am very new to the 4x4 world. I love classic cars for sure. My Jimmy is a beautiful truck, it has a 305 in it for now, i was curious if i could get some help on cheap performance mods w/o dumping a 350 in it, thats gonna be later on down the road... along with frame off restoration. I would very much appreciate some advice.
:D

Headers, a true dual exhaust, with high flow cats, and a performer intake will do wonders for the stock engine.

Cherry Jubilee

Hello all!

I am now the proud new owner of a 69 blazer! The body is in need of serious work, the motor is questionable, the top was busted by a tree shortly after purchase, and the wiring is ****e. My goal: Pull everything apart and turn her into a street friendly mud stomping beast! As this is my first time trying something like this, so I expect I'll be asking plenty of questions and hunting around the forums for situations that will undoubtably come up.

Hey how's it going,

My name is Ryan live about 30 minutes out side of Chicago. Just recently acquired an 89 k5 by no means is it perfect and is already love hate relationship. My ten bolt went curplunk a week in to owning it as i figured it would eventual do so. Ive been into k5's since i was young but have always been more of a car person. I couldn't pass this up tho i got it in a trade for a conversion van i paid a 1000 dollars for.

Cool can't wait to see pics of it. That Magnum box should be sweet also.

Newcomer

Hello my name is Pete, and I drive a 97 2wd C1500 extracab that i'm turning into a desert prerunner/expedition vehicle. It has 3" overstock front coils and an after market Heim jointed UCA with extended swaybar links and 3" lift spindles. Out back it is pretty much stock with 2.5" add-a-leafs running on 31" Cooper AT tires with stock wheels. There is alot I want to do to this vehicle and I'm just getting started. Thanks and hope to talk to you all soon.

Hi, Frank here, from Lubbock, TX. Just bought my first K5, a '76. It's pretty rough, but it runs. I plan on restoring as time and money allow, but as I'm currently back in school, that'll be a while.

New - 77 vacuum lines?

Just signed up today. I have a 77 K5 that I've had for about a year now. the main reason that i joined was to find out about the vacuum lines on my truck. engine is a 400 with a Holley carb put on by the previous owner. The only line that i can see that is hooked up correctly and running is the one to the transmission. It seems the others are blocked off. My question is how does this affect how the engine runs and would it be worth fixing. I know this isn't the correct place for this post but figured i would just put it in the intro.

Welcome! Ask that question again the the garage, should get plenty of help. I will add that pics will help with getting good answers on that one. You will need to up your post count a couple notches and you will be able to link the pics in from a pic hosting site like photobucket, picasa, etc.

Hello, I'm Lance. I live in Holland, MI and I just got my first K5(actually my first 4X4 truck too). It is already lifted with 35's on it, and the drivetrain is adequate for now(12 bolt rear with posi. Dana44 front limited slip. 4:11 gears 355, mild cam, tbi) but the body needs some attention. As I get time and money(both of which are in short supply with 3 kids) I will post some before, in-progress, and after pictures. Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

New 88 K5 and my first 4x4 vehicle

Hello all! I acquired my first 4x4 vehicle this Saturday. It's an 88 K5. It is bone stock aside for a 4" Rancho suspension lift. I traded an 08 KLR650 dual sport for it and I'm excited to start having some fun. Being that this is my first four wheel drive, I am sure I will have a lot of questions for you guys, lol. Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi" and I look forward to meeting you all and learning as much as I can!
