Introductions & Greetings

Hello all. I don't own a gm 4x4 at the moment but we do have an 87 cucv in the family that I am helping build. Have some ideas for it so figured this would be the place to do some searching and reading

Damn, i bet that baby GETS IT with 4.56s and those 32s and the stall convertor! Bitchin! Im one of the resident sand sluts here so i hope to see a thread on it with some sand slingin :thumb:
Getting the cage and bumpers built now. I should have her ready by the time it finally cools down to play in the sand!

The gears make a big difference, but it's held back by the TBI 350. Gonna need a vortec LS soon. Lol.

Hello my name is Patrick and I am in Los Alamos New Mexico. I have a 1988 Chevrolet Suburban that I picked up for $800 5 years ago. When I got it it had a blown 6.2l diesel that had seen a lot of abuse. I happened to have a 454bb lying around so I threw that into the truck. It is now making around 500hp and 550-600lbtq. I am running 37's with 6" of lift and a quad shock front conversion. I have a th400 with a np208 like most of these trucks but am thinking about converting it into a manual. I have the stock 14 bolt in the rear and corp 10 bolt up front. I am in the process of figuring out what direction to go. I have discovered some rust on the back half on the truck so I might be doing a crew cab swap. I look forward to getting to know some people as I am going to be asking for advice on some upcoming conversions.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hello my name is Clint. I am a hotrodder and offroader, currently without a 4x4 while I focus on an LS swap for my '70 Nova. I came to CK5 to offer my support and best wishes for rdn2blazer who has been going through a frightening ordeal with a brain tumor and lung cancer.

Hey guys! My name is Jake, im 18, and I live in sunny southern California! I have always been a chevy square body 4x4 fan. Unfortunately, I dont have the tools or the space to do some of the cool stuff you guys can do :( but that didnt stop me! I saved my pennies and had a 1990 K5 blazer custom built by World Famous 4x4, or Gm Truck Center. They did the 14bff/d44 swap, new drive shafts, dual Bilstien 5100's on the front, single on the rear. ORD Shackle flip on the rear with Deaver springs, 4" deaver springs on the front. Stock 350, new 700r4, np208. Custom front bumper with a winch, custom rear bumper with swing out tire carrier and jerry can mount. Custom roof rack with lights and high lift mount. custom paint! Now that I have a good base I can do the little things to make it awesome! I am looking forward picking everyone's brains!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

long story short I picked up an 85 3/4 ton 4x4 heavy duty that came with the 6.2L diesel in the early-mid 2000's it made its way to Michigan to sit until getting a 3/4 ton 350 gasser w/ granny 4 speed manual swapped in because the diesel died.

Had to do a few little things here and there but overall its a great truck just the electrical is garbage :(

hi joanne here from nj and i have a 1991 blazer k5 that i am having trouble with just replaced the whole distributor , cap, rotor, spark plug wires and vacuum lines and i still get a code 42 from my engine light. when started it runs smooth in idle position but when i give it gas it misses could it be possible that the distributor is one tooth off? i used a timeing light and it seems right on. but i keep getting the same code 42 so i read in a book it could be the est but dont know where that is located or even looks like or if this is the problem. thanks

Hello. New member here. My name is Justin. I live in Texas. I have a 04 dodge 4x4 dually with the cummins. I have multiple mods giving me 572 h.p. on just diesel. With the propane on it makes 665. I also just bought a 04 tj rubicon that has 35's and 4 inches of lift. Sending it to the shop in the next month or 2 for 5.13 gears.

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D
My name is chevotaman and i am 50 years old and have been a hot rodder/4wheeler all my life.I am currently building a1982 toyota 4x4 pickup with a 5.7 350/ NV3500/NP241C.I have run into a snag because i can not find a NP241C with a right hand drop or any adapters for the NV3500.I want to use the NV3500 because it only has 6000 miles on a rebuild before the truck was rolled. All came from a 1991 C1500 pickup.I live in Big Spring Tx {middle of nowhere}where salvage yards are as scarce as gold on the moon.I am a machinist/mechanic/ welder/truck driver by trades.I hope someone has some information or parts i need on getting my NV3500 conected to a right hand drop T/C.I still have the toyota drivetrain 21 spline gear driven toyota T/C.
