Introductions & Greetings

New here, I have a 76 International Scout 2 with a 400/350/205 combo in it. I used all the TBI parts and sensors off of a 1991 1500. I have a DRW 60 front and a DRW 70 rear with SRW hubs from a 14bolt to match the width of the front axles.
I signed up here for the info I could use.

Welcome to CK5!

We dig Scouts too, basically anything different than the typical Jeep. Actually, one of our members has a Jeep and we still keep him around :haha:. You'll find a lot of good people here, a wealth of info and experience and generally good bsing all around.

Let's see some pics of that Scout!!!

MAN do I miss the 73' Scout I had. Want another one bad, but have to someday finish what I already have going.

hello from Afghanistan by way of Ft. Bragg NC.

Hello,

Me: Originally from Bakersfield Ca. Joined the Army in 2000 I'm an 18B currently(Special Forces Weapons SGT) Always owned lifted Chevy's. Currently in Afghanistan.

Truck(what you really care about lol): 1978 Chevy picked it up for 750 dollars a few months ago in not so great shape.

Stock 350(pretty sure it'e the orignal engine completely stock from 1978 minus AC someone took out. but makes good compresion and sounds strong)
TH350(I rebuilt and put in B&M shift kit had no reverse)
NP205(heavy $#*())
Appears to be a 4" lift and sits on 35's
Interior is non existant

Plans:
Paint and body: Truck is at paint and body. Color scheme is going to be ??? (gotta decide soon) bumper, grille
Body: front bumper, core support/Phantom grill, hood, fenders, doors, cab floor, cab supports, bed sides, roll pan.
Interior: Dash pad, Dakots digital guages, carpet, headliner, seat, doors and stereo sys.
Engine: 383 stroker, A/C system
Axles: Dana 60's,
Transfer: twin stick the NP205
Suspension: 8-12in lift (haven't made up my mind yet) would love long travel but $$$$$ and I'm not rich
Rims and tires: 38" tires, probably going to stay with 15" rims
Bed: not sure yet I want to be able to put stuff in it so thinking of steering way from the expensive nice wood. maybe diamond plate the sides and treated lumber and new hardware. getting rid of the chains or and possibly putting an LED strip in the roll pan or welding up the stake pockets and putting some Caddy tail lights in them(how do you think that would look?)

hello

hello

my name is Tyler i am from sault sainte marie ontario canada

bought this truck when i was 21 1st truck i got .. should say 1st love also lol

started off as a stock 1985 chevy k10 the day i found this truck i jumped the gun big time i contacted the guy about the truck set up the next day to look at the truck and that night i did order a lift kit for it and tsl boggers and rims lol... i just jumped the gun a weee bit i think.. but worked out well.. the truck was in good shape well what seemed.. truck had new exhaust & headers , new tires that it.. body seemed good said there is "new" box sides door and fenders.. got the truck close to winter so it sat over that time... summer time i started work and tool the box off and set it down on the ground then blocked it up so it was off the ground... but as i was putting the last box side off the ground i all i can here is cracking... and then a huge chip of bondo popped out .. so that made me mad.. took a hammer and tapped around .. figured out fast it was garbage.. checked fenders and they where good and new stickers still on the inside. so i got a new box for it. free good shape spent alot of time on the box just fixing little dents no rust or anything.. got the box ready to be painted by a body shop .. the body shop was going to go over the box fix it up better then me and also do the cab... but a week before the truck was going to go in i found a add for low rider ... checked the truck out and for a price i will not say.. i will let a few people toss a price around what u think i payed..

after i got this other truck i found a k5 blazer and for $300 i had to buy it.. got the front axle out of it dash , 4 eye clip ,dash ,tranny, t case and alot of other stuff was good for all the bolts

after i stripped the truck for parts and bolts! i had a buddy who passed away awhile ago and i met up with one of his buddy's on the trail one day and i told him about the blazer .. and he wanted to build the blazer in memory of are friend who passed away.. ended up trading the blazer for a set of rims and tires for my truck witch never got put on .. sold them for a set of bead locks witch are now on my truck with my new boggers!! i don't wanna keep going on and on.. i will post in a forum about my build with some pics of the process.. thanks for sticking around and reading my introduction .... tryed to post a picture but wont let me yet

Looking for a solid K5 to do a 6.0 swap into. Currently own a 1967 Camaro under construction powered by a F1X procharged 408 LS motor with a 4L80E trans, 2008 1500 CC 4x4, 2007 Tahoe on 22's (soccer mom ride for my wife) and a 69k original mile 1985 IROC that's for sale to make room for the K5. Work as a mechanical tech at a power plant and own a small speed/off road shop on the side.

Welcome :thumb:. If you are not opposed to running 8 lug axles, a 14 bolt full floater or semi floater can be found cheap and alot of them come with 4.10 gearing. 4.56 would be your best ratio in my opinion for you tires. But 4.10s would be just fine. Then you just need to either regear the front axle or if you found a matching 3/4 ton setup, that would be the easiest :waytogo:

Hi everyone,

Just finished an engine rebuild for a 1985 k10, nothing too drastic but I'm in the trouble shooting phase of a mild 383 upgrade converted to a Carb. Just looking for some info.

Take care

Howdy

Hi guys, I'm from Amarillo. I have a 80 K10 shortwide with a 350/TH350, an 82 K10 Suburban with a 6.2/700r4, and a 93 K1500 with a 4.3/4L60E. All more or less stock for now, except for exhaust and intake work. Thinking about doing manual trans swap on the Suburban, and possibly the 80 too, but we'll see how it goes. Also starting to gather stuff to turbo the old 6.2. Look forward to contributing what I can.
