New to the site and new to 4x4's. Just purchased my first 4x4 it's a 85 jimmy sierra/k5. First time ever owning a vehicle with a carburator so getting used to that haha. I love it and I think it's one of the best trucks I've owned. One of my plans is doing a LS swap sometime this year. It already has a 6" lift with 36" tires. It's going to be my project so hopefully I can get some ideas and help on here.

He custom builds these gear boxes to handle the power outputs of our machines, and the double overdrive enable us to have even more flexibility with our gears for highway vs. off-road. Can't beat that with a stick

Let me clear that up... I'm not "in the market" for a T56 in my truck, I just wasn't aware it is possible. Thanks for sharing the info though for anyone who might be. Now, get your post count up a bit and post some pics of this truck.

Now that i realize what i had, I would really like to get another one. So from what I've already read on here, you guys are the best!
I would love to know what to look for when shopping for a new blazer. It would be awesome to know if anyone on here knows someone that is selling one in north ga 
My budget is low (500-2000) as i would like to completely frame up rebuild and customize to my liking.

Hello everyone. My name is Ant and i have have always had a chevy truck in my life. Sometimes more than 1. I have come to this site for info for many years as I have found it to be filled with good posts and accurate fixes. I finally signed up last year and am just now posting. I currently have a 84 military 1 ton longbed that has been through a few different setups. Right now it is running a 350 gas swap from the original 6.2 diesel and has street tires on it that are about 33 in. (not sure what the metric conversion is) It has been a DD and work truck for the past few years. Great truck but I miss the room inside of a K5. Not to mention the dry storage. See you all around the forums.

I'm Scott from Hudsonville Michigan. Bought a rust free 1989 k5 because I wanted a convertible (want to convert to full convertible with my 73 donor eventually), go to the dunes at silver lake , and be able to pull our boat all with one vehicle.
Currently working on a few things but wanted input on the full convertible conversion (this is a toy , not a DD) , who makes a good convertible top yet or go to my boat canvas guy?
any roll bar plans, I need to go all the way back to put people in the back for the dunes. I have mig welder and can use tubing bender but some dimensions would be huge.
I rewmoved center console and put a center seat from a 3 row explorer and now have a psuedo bench in front but still have the seats that slide forward for rear seat access.
I put a front hitch on to carry bikes or big cooler or ? since there's not a lot of storage in the blazer. I mounted the spare tire on a post fabracated of the top of the rear hitch to give more interior space also
I came across some firestone air bags and am going to put them on the back leaf springs for a light load capacity increase
What's the best replacement for the cracked dash?

Question for 1969 Blazer owners broke my front drivers side u joint... first trip out just found when I measured to have replaced it is 35 1/2 which is a odd size no longer made and only put on a few 69 Blazers anyone ever have that problem but me?

Hi guys - I too have been lurking for a while and finally decided to sign up. I just bought an 89 K5 and I will start working on its issues when it warms up a bit.
This is only the 2nd Chevy I have ever owned. I've always been a Ford man mainly Broncos new and old but always liked the K5's so I picked this one up. I am not familiar with TBI at all but this has been a great resource so far.
