I am Marisa from the great state of Indiana. I have a 1977 Jimmy I am hoping to restore to its greatness through help from this forum. Limited income for this project I will be doing little bits at a time and loving my truck more and more each day!

Hello all!

Hello all,

I have been a lurker of the forum for many years. I have had several trail rigs that were frankenstiened in some since so K5 was often a resource. My current rig fits the K5 bill perfectly now and I think i will stick with it for a while. I have 5 kids so my only real trail worthy choice is a suburban, this is my 7th, but the first trail worthy! The list is 83 2500 Diesel, 01 1500, 94 2500 Diesel, 87 1500, 04 Escalade ESV, 91 2500 Diesel w/Banks, 1990 1500 (Current). I am no stranger and love the diesels as you can tell. My current rig does trails and commutes. Here are the basics and I will start a build thread when time allows. I picked this rig up a couple of months ago from a local fellow in Colorado Springs so you may have seen it on the trail in the past, I am just trying to carry on his legacy!

1990 1500 4x4
TBI 383, NV4500 5 speed
4" BDS Lift, 35's
10 bolt w/ARB front, 14 bolt SF w/Detroit rear, 4:56's
OBA, Dual batteries, KC's, Wilderness Rack, Snorkle

It is an older build so i will be doing a lot of updating but the bones are great and it has not failed me as a DD. First upgrade was the ORD HD steering linkage and TRE's. Lots more on my ORD list, next is bushings all around and the sway bar relocation.

Thanks for having me, I will do my best to add to this community and hope to see you around.

Here are some pictures of my rig: https://plus.google.com/105732631164881848859/posts/fC6DwyB2T4U

Hello, I'm Dan. I'm new and just learning the site. I haven't figured out the asking questions part yet.

I have a 74 K5 with a 454. Had a 350/305 when she got to me. I'm working on a swap into a 454/SM465/205 combo.

New to K5

Hey, I am a VTer and have been working with 70s chevys and GMCs for
awhile (mostly, since the 70s)
I now use the trucks mostly in the woods and for plowing
I just picked up another, a 1983 GMC 2500 to fix up and use for Road, hauling and plowing.
Hope to gain some knowledge here!

Hello from beautiful W. Texas

My name is Bill and I enjoy most all kinds of vehicles. The ssimpala user name is what I use on the Impala SS site, so I'll use it here too so I'll remember...yeah, I'm old and getting forgetful.

I'm currently restoring a '73 K5 Blazer and look forward to visiting with you all about it. I'm not real good with a computer yet, so I'll be mostly "lurking" for a while.

Thank's for having me. Bill. :)

new guy and new to blogging

Hello my name is Jeff ( you can call me snowman) I have a 1975 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with a 454 that someone else beefed up and installed I am looking for parts and specs I am from Cardington, Ohio

Hey Martin, the TBI swap was actually pretty easy, I had. Rusted out 87 k5 that I used everything off of, complete engine swap including wire harness, fuel tank, all plumbing I also used the complete dash and dash harness, after all that was done it was taken down to the California state smog bar they went through it, had to go back one more time after making a couple corrections they gave me the state bar sticker and all is good now. I've done quite a few LS swaps into into older hot rods, this is the first one to actually have to get slogged, passes with flying colors.
