Newbie from Santa Monica Blvd LA

Hello everyone... I'm Stephanie from LA California... new to this forum and glad you accepted my registration...

Though I'm NOT an expert in cars but with our 2012 chevy pickup... i thought I need to know at least the basics and someone to rely on whenever we have issues with the car and that's you guys... :waytogo:

cheers

I was hoping you guys were friends. When I looked at locations I thought, nah. Buy then, I did not think Steve was that much of a jerk.

Lol yeah I was gonna let it go one or two more insults before I let it be known we've been friends for a while.

New.

I hope I'm posting in the right spot.. haha. But, hey guys. I'm Julius. 24, from Oregon. Just recently inherited an 88 K5 from my grandpa. I'm fairly new to the 4x4 world, but it's always been a huge interest of mine. I've browsed this site a lot, so I figure I may as well become an active member. Looking forward to getting a start on my new project.

Hello everyone, to start off my name is Amber and I am located in California. I bought a 1991 K5 diesel blazer a few months ago not running. My boyfriend and I finally got it running after replacing the starter, replaced lift pump with a mechanical fuel pump, new ip and injectors, radiator, batteries, fuel filter, and timing chain. After replacing all that the problem ended up being the keyway, it was missing a big chunk out of it. So, now it is time for the fab work.

Hello All,

New to the forum. I will post some past trail reports to hopefully have some members here join some off road trail runs in northern Nevada and CALI.

What did you do to fix the keyway problem?

Martin

When we found it we pulled the front of the engine apart. Lined up the cam and crank timing marks, pulled the gears, replaced the keyway. Then put it all back together with a new timing chain, water pump, etc. Cam bolt had backed out causing the original issue. Lock tight and pft'd the bolt.

Always happy to help and recieve help

Hey there, I'm new to ck5 but have been referring to your forums for advice for a little while now. I live in Palmer, Massachusetts currently, raised in a small town, Holland, Ma. I want to travel with my rig eventually and see where i can take it. I got myself a 91 k5, 6" skyjacker suspension lift on 33x12.5s, rebuilt 350 tbi with 700r4, stock 10 bolt front and rear. Hoping to setup crossover steering after I paint the whole body and frame, needs a little body work as well as some interior work such as dash and steering wheel. I'd love to have a leather or leather like interior. Want to throw a cucv front bumper and brushguard on it and a winch one day. I also want to take the glass out of my tailgate and make an assisted lift rear hatch window type deal. There's always more modifications to be done and im interested in any input that anyone has on what they would do or have done. Offroading is my passion and my wallet is my enemy.
I'll get pictures up soon.
Thanks and im looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Nice rig! I'm partial to the diesels. And your late model will have some neat things that the older rigs don't have. :)

And welcome to all the new members. Now that you've said hello, specific tech questions (and build threads, of course!) should be posted up in the Garage.

Same here.

Eyebrows were raised... :haha:

Glad to see a happy ending. :D

K5 Blazer Dad

Hello and thanks for the add. I'm almost an old fart and my sixteen yr old is on his fourth vehicle and this time he bought a 1987 K5. He wants to partially restore and mod this beast of a truck. Previous owner did some mods. Installed newer model 350 has edelbrock 650 th350 and swapped np208 for a np203. Here's why I joined this crazy place. I'm looking for either a custom cross member or pics of how somebody else has done this set up. Its kinda southern ingenuity right now and I can't let the boy roin a POS....I can weld and fabricate with the best so no worries on my skill level, but I've learned from others peoples mistakes. And I like to do it the right way the first time. So if any info on this please get with me. And oh yeah I need a tailgate window switch.
