Hi my name is Lonney I have a 1988 k5 Blzaer just recently I was pulling the trans and it hooked on the positive wire to the starter well now I have no power Windows radio well I have nothing and all fuses are good what's up??Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck.

I forget exactly, that's why I suggested starting your own thread. If I remember correctly there are two. One just off the battery going to the starter and one between the starter and fuse block. It looks like a bulge in the cable. Best way to check is to get a multimeter and check to see if you have 12V at the starter, which will tell you which one it is.

I have been a chevy fan as long as I can remember and have had my share of pickups but my favorite has always been the k5 blazers. Years ago I had a full size jimmy but had to get rid of it when the transmission went I had to deploy to Iraq. Up until now I haven't been in a position to build a rig I like but have finally gotten the finances and the vehicle I would like to build. What I have is an 86 k5 blazer. Even for my pickups, whenever I needed advice or a question answered it brought me to this page so I figured for this vehicle I needed to join. My plan is to lift it 4 inches and put 35s on it but it will be my family four wheeling vehicle so I can't get to crazy or costly. In another year or two I plan to put a 350 in it and build stronger rears. One thing at a time though right?! If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations on how to do this right please fill me in. I was a mechanic in the army but only second shop. Basically that means I can work on cars but am not the one to ask technical questions nor would I know the right mods to make on my truck to get what I want out of it. I have quite a few questions and look forward to getting the project started.

What's up? Name is james im from bakersfield, CA. I own too many vehicles but one happens to be a 1990 blazer. 6" lift 35's D60/14ff 4:88s with detroits front and rear, th400/205. I love the amount of useful info here and hope to get my turd on some trails soon.

I hope to start a thread in the driveway section this weekend on my build. I've been building a 1977 Jimmy for the last 2 years. Basically it has a 5.3, 4L60E swap and a home built 3 link coil spring front suspension. This forum has been a big help over the years looking for info and ideas, so thank you all!!

My name is Ken Johnson and I just joined coloradok5. I've been a fan for years. My first Blazer was a 1970; which my best friend bought while in high school. Now I have a 1981 K5 which I have done many upgrades and work to. The stock 305 was replaced with a crate GM 350 bored over .30, a new transmission, new Yukon .410 gears with lockers in the front and back, 35" BFG MT2's, new paint, new interior carpet. It has a 2 1/2" suspension lift with a 2" body lift. I still plan on more projects. I would like to repaint it, get custom bumpers, and maybe get fender trims and a winch.
