Ok, so I go out there today and get under the truck to take a look around see how bad it looks like its going to be to do this lift, and it doesnt look good, lol.

But I was looking at my front leaf springs and not only are they almost straight they are actually inverted a little and arched down, is this normal??

My 89 blazer when it was stock the front leaf had a reverse arch to them. IIRC they were only a 2 or 3 leaf pack. This is normal by the way.

stock light duty is 2 leaf tapered leaf style. hd option is 3 leaf tapered leaf style. all will be negitive arched after this long if not from factory.

tapered leaf is 3" wide and is thicker at middle and gets thinner to the ends. this is for ride quality and life span.

almost all after market leaf packs are std leaf style same thickness from center to ends and thay have a flat to positive arch to them. this is for lift and cheeper to build than tapered leafs.

if you are planing on doing a lift i would go 3-4" tuff country and ord hd shackles and possible flip kit for rear end. and this with good shocks.

look at www.offroaddesign.com for some good deals. and also search here for tons and tons of good info.

Thanks alot, as it wont be my only vehicle most of the time and im working on quite the limited budget think im just going to go with a 4" rough country, I know they are a rougher ride then most but im not too concerned with it, dont drive this thing because of how nice it rides, lol. And its much cheaper.

i hate rough country.

even there new stuff for newer trucks fits like crap and quality is shotty.

but thats your choice. :(

I have a set of 4" tuff country springs that have about 3 miles on them, and another with probably 5k miles. Both Hd's
