Ion's 1978 K10 Build.

I believe that is the worst frame crack I have ever seen.:eek1:

You think that is bad?
Mine cracked like this, the front part of the frame bent up 90 degrees, and the piece in between the 4 bolt holes broke off and fell with the steering box.:doah:

The WFO Concepts Shackle flip showed up today. This thing is beefy!

Dang, I thought mine was bad when it had a crack running through three of the bolt holes. I guess I had it easy.

Shackle flip looks good, I like the adjustability.

And for no apparent reason, i found a picture of my frame crack before i got it fixed up.

Good God! With a crack like that, I'm surprised you didn't have Whitney Houston trying to inhale your truck.........

Lord I apologize..............

so today was out with the 6" rancho suspension and in with a set of the atlas spring 64" springs.

The leaf pack it a 9 leaf pack but soft as warm butter.

You can also run the 64's while still using the stock hanger. the shackle flip from wfo concepts just got moved to the very end of the frame. which I think it will work just fine this way.

In no particular order.

No the next step is to stitch weld or fully weld around the shackle flip. But i need to have a friend come over and do that.

And also for those thinking that you need a shop and garage to do this, i am proof that you don't. All of my tools fit into a 12" harbor freight tool bag except for my drill, grinder and a bfh and a pry bar. and all of those are also from harbor freight as well.

If you're going to weld, I'd stitch weld, but that's just me. Really, when I put my shackle flip on, I didn't weld anything, however it's not on the end of the frame like that.

JJ, where does Atlas ship from? Do you still have anything that would say? Curious if the Atlas Spring Co. I used to to press out my bushings is in fact thee Atlas Co.

So it has been a slow couple of weeks. But anyways, the shackle flip is welded on, and the flip stretched the rear end about 5". I also got the steering box brace welded on. All of this was with the help of a friend. I can't weld to save my own ass.

So next up is going to be steering. I need to figure out if i'm going full hydro or hydro assist. any input is welcome.

Tow rig? If so go full hydro it sucks to do with leaf springs btw,

No tow rig hydro assist.

One thing if I may you might want to move your front hanger forward a touch when you get some weight on that back end that shackle angle will be 90* it might sit right against the frame

Yeah i was thinking the same exact thing once o put a little weight on it.

I'm leaning towards hydro assist right now, but the axle is moved forward about 1.5-2" or so. How do i make a steering box work? i know crossover, but with it being offset like that will it make a difference?

My steering box works fine with the axle moved foward 2 inches. Running crossover with hydro assist as I still drive on pavement occasionally.

Well I got some H1's today for a trade.

Now i need to have them re-centered and i can mount my boggers on them.
