Hey, does anyone know of an app for a IPhone or iPad that will read and display live data from a vehicle.

I'm wanting to run something on my truck for awhile, just during shake down runs and when things are changed on my engine. Just because factory gauges are analog and not very accurate or reliable to trust right away. I think anyway.

I have hptuners but I don't wanna drive with my laptop everywhere, It'd be easier with a iPhone or small iPad

Yea but I was wondering if anyone on here was running anything like that, some of them are pretty pricey if they suck lol

I run the PLX KiWi (wifi) obd device and broadcast to DashCommand (Palmer Performance) to monitor all sorts of attributes on an iPhone. I can read error codes and clear CELs, etc too. It also does data logging and can output to a file for analysis if you like that sort of thing.... :)

OBD-II is a pretty slow protocol, so the more items up you try to simultaneously monitor the slower the refresh rate gets... For basic monitoring and logging its fine, but when you get really serious you'll want dedicated sensors and logging (Zeitronix / DashDaq) etc.

I have been actively searching for an OBD1 app to interface with my iPad. I don't think they make one. I will be following this thread to see what OBD2 apps CK5ers like.

I don't think anyone makes something to read data off obd1, mainly because obd1 doesn't really have to much to read. I mean obd1 scanners are about useless if you ask me. I've used them and rarely find them useful. Well if you compare it to obd2

I'm just wanting to be able to see and compare my factory gauges to what my computers saying.
