I am considering trading my 39.5 irok radials for a set of 40" goodyear MTR's.

My iroks ride like a dream for a big tire.
I used to own a set of 35" MTR's and it was an excellent tire.

My main reason for wanting to trade is i hate my wheels and love the wheels on the MTR's

Anybody have any suggestiond or comments?
help me out guys...make up my mind for me

id say go for it, ive run various swampers and the mtr and ill take the mtr, way more street friendly if you drive it on the road, better wear as well, and they grip well in dirt/rocks and cleanout decent in mud as well. the mtr sidewalls help out some in deep ruts also, and those are some spiffy rims they come on!!

fyi thay only make the new new mtr now . no longer make the old polular mtr tire tread. so if you want to find a new spare or replacement good luck.

Are they real beadlocks?

Is this a straight across trade?

I went from MT/Rs to IROKs and I'd never go back but I'm sure the MT/Rs will wear much better on the road (I got ~10K out of the first 20% of mine).

those are not real beadloks.

its not a straight trade. i keep my wheels (and i hate my wheels) but i throw in a set of worn 35" toyos and wheels.

im concerned that the mtr's wont ride as well as my iroks. these iroks sure ride nice.

theyll balance out good for a smooth ride, and as was said above, they dont make the old style tread anymore, just the new odd looking hybrid tread pattern

I run the old style 40" mtr's and love them. I got them b/c I would frequently do 400+ mile trips. They wear great on the street. They were real good on rocks and crawling, but not as good as a regular Irok. Now I dont really drive my truck on the street anymore, I saw they came out with a 42" mtr but I think Ill probably go with 42 Iroks stickys since Im no longer riding on the street.

Oh and I never balanced mine with weights, I used air soft bb's. They were real smooth with my H2's, even with huge chucks missing all over the tires.

I have some 35" old style MT/R's on my blazer and love the hell out of them, I've never ran Irok's though so I can't compare.
