IROK's vs BOGGERS

they where great and do just fine in mud and snow
The SSR Series of Super Swamper Radial/TSL
thats what im running.
had em for 2 yrs and i drive 40 miles a day most of the time 6 days a week to work
and have 75% tread left,,
just a thought and here's a link to em

the mickeys are scary as hell to drive with on the road cuz theyre too wide. thats why i really wanna get ride of em fast
i can get a set of 40" boggers for 1800$(canadian) on sweet aluminum rims. but i only have a 305 and half ton running gear, mind u i have detroits all around and i can burn the mickeys off on dry pavement, as its 4.88s. thats why im kind of leaning towards iroks. theyll be safer on the street, and ill be able to spin em like nothin in the mud. i think id have a hard time turning the boggers in deep mud. and ill end up breakin ****.

with 1/2 ton and those tires and a heavy right foot youll be breaking those regardless!!!

I was at a tire store the other morning getting my tires rotated and they had a set of used 39" IROKS for sale. They only had 15,000 miles on them and I've seen racing slicks that had more tread than those tires. They were off of an Z-71. I am trying to decide what tire to run on my 4 runner a 35x16x15 bogger or the 36x13.5 irok. After seeing those iroks I am going with the boggers :D

I burned off 1/4" of tread on my 33" TSLs in about 2500 miles... long life and bias Interco tires don't seem to be used in the same sentence very often.

Yep, I am waiting on the 39.5 to be released to the public. Supposed to be the beggining of May

i was talking to an older guy this weekend and he told me something that made a lot of sense he said to build your rig for what you do with it 90 percent of the time, the other 10percent just suffer through

What about the good ol' 39.5" TSL? A little cheaper than a Bogger and better on the road. In my opinion, the TSL is better in the mud than the Irok. I've been on several different trails with guys running Iroks, Boggers, and TSL's (typical muddy Midwest stuff) and while the Iroks are not bad tires in the mud, they just don't seem to do quite as good as the TSL's or Bogger's.

As a side note, why in the world do people use time instead of miles to tell how long their tires last?? Saying your tires lasted a few months or a few years is completely irrelevant unless you say how many fricken' miles you drive.

I know a couple people that have given-up on IROC's....
They wear-out WAY faster than Boggers. (Due to thread depth)
My buddy Dave wore his out...in 6 months...then they were worthless.

If you run often...I'd stay away from IROC's.

The TSL is still Interco's top seller...I'd consider those. ;)

I agree with RATAH... I never realized it but ssr stands for super swamper radial

Looking at the tread patter they would last ALOT longer than regular tsls, iroks, or swampers and unless you run competitions, they will hold their own in the mud. A buddy of mine has some 38" ssrs on a yota and they do damn good in the mud plus you get tough sidewalls and rut treads...

IMHO opinion the boggers are way out of your reach unless you get rid of the half ton stuff... there is a 5 inch width difference between the tsl and bogger. An 18.5" wide bogger and 1/2 ton axles don't belong in the same sentence. :D

If you want the best of both worlds the IROK radial is the way to go... otherwise i would go with some hawgs or ssrs.

Just my 2 cents
