what the hell is ctm'd?

CTMs... 300M u-joints from Jack. Pretty much the best u-joint ever made. Not sure what d44 ones cost... but D60 ones are $250-ish a pop.

"just looked at your profile, do you have a 4.10 geared 12b? thats perfect with a non OD tranny IMO. last a long time if you dont abuse it extremely"

i agree, exept that my pinion exploded driving at 45 down the street. and they are only a year and a half old

my buddy just bought a set of CTMs for his Dana44. 185 bucks a piece I believe is what he said. Insanity in my opinion. I personally would rather blow out a ujoint before breaking something up stream like a locker or worse. He has a lockrite hehe, that thing is toast, I'll take pics when it happens :D

Lockrights are still pretty damn strong tho.

I agree.... i'd rather pay 10 bucks for a OEM u joint than pay 200+ for one that won't last 20 years. If i blew a u joint once a year for 20 years i would have paid as much as one ctm :screwy: ... i doubt a ctm will last 20 years.

I don't get how all these guys are blowin up 10b's on the street. Might have something to do with servicing the diff.... you get water in the fluid or don't change it and it'll die pretty quick... my rig still has the original 10b as far as i know and it's had 35's on it for 1/4 of its life.

You usualy take out atleast one shaft also so figure that into your #'s

Your right I don't see how they are blowing up 1/2 ton stuff that easly eather. I have been running 44"ers on a 1/2 ton front for 4 years now. Its a 95% off road trail rig. I even ran lower and upper heldorodo with my setup and didn't brake anything. I usualy end up toasting one u-joint/shaft assembly per year. But then again I have a very capable rig and a magic touch ;) that helps keep my drive train in one piece.

Don't buy an axle for that much dude. I finaly found a front D60 last night that I can afoard. 400$ complete and 100% working. It is even from an Off Road Shop...he just wants it out of there. Front 10bolt/D44's are usualy 150$ or less around here. I have a bunch (8) I'd be willing to sell cheep if you were around here.

Jesus, $150 for me and you pay shipping will get you mine!

89 10 bolt 30 spline - open diff, 4.10 gears (Genuine gear), 6 month old brakes, 6 month old drums, spare gov-loc for jic, run with mobil 1
