is everything a hunk of china junk these days...

so far the replacement has been fine, tho i haven't used it much...

actually you just reminded me, I have a store credit with them, i should go pick up another length of hose for it... thats one ghey thing about all the vacs nowadays it seems.. they come with like a 6' hose....

I'll have to look into that too! It'd make it nice to clean out my Jeep with. Being a 2 door, I usually have to set the vacuum in the front seat to get the back ones.

I have been collecting shop vac hoses for years. I used to go through a shop vac every other year it seemed.

I have like 20' of hose, the problem is connecting them together. Cool to be able to vacuum each corner of the shop without having to move the vac around.

Just in case you guys didn't already know...you can buy accordian-style "spa vacuum hose" by the foot in a couple different diameters there at Homo Depot. It's basically just better quality shop vac hose, and it works really well with the nylon barb connectors (you'd have to cut it off like a pushlock barb). I keep meaning to put a FIP connector on my shop vac and then I can just thread the hose on...no more pulling the hose off when you try to drag the vacuum!

We use rigid vacuums in a commercial application. I've probably gone through 10 of them or so, so far, but they get abused hard. They are hit and miss really, I've had a couple die really fast and I've had a couple last exceptionally long.

I purchased my shop vac in 95'...still going strong. It's hooked up to my sand blaster right now. They were made in PA back then! :thumb:
