Is he asking too much?

Todays market is volatile. I'm starting to get used to seeing some of the prices people are asking for their stuff/junk. It never hurts to start high and deal down.

i wouldnt pay 10gs unless that sucker is restored somewhat.id say 3 to 4 gs for a solid truck with no rust that runs from that era.they look complete but the first one is overpriced.the scond is gettin close but is missing the 402,which would make it worth what they are asking.with the 350 and looks like a just a junkyard replacement 3 gs tops.my opinion though so that goes only so far.different areas of the country will definitely affect what someone is willing to pay for a rust free cali truck.

If you can find someone willing to pay it, then your not asking too much :D

The two trucks in question, IMO , yes they are asking too much, but like they say "there's an a** for every seat"

That second truck looks like it was originally green? If its already been repainted forget about it who knows what's underneath.

I wonder how much change he has in the engine on the first truck and if it's a documented build from a reliable shop. In my opinion a vehicle is worth more in good condition unrestored because you know what your buying.

Its a nice truck, I would probably give $3k for it maybe 3500 if I really wanted it. I find them in similar condition around here for $3k. Sometimes though you will find one that is priced really high though.

But like was mentioned, if someone will pay it he's not asking too much. My stepsister and husband bought an 85 blazer with a body beat to crap, decent interior, 7 inch lift, bald 31s and a blown up rear end with 2.73 gears for $2500. Tried to sell it for that much after they blew up the 700r too:haha:

That first one does look decent. Worth 10k? I dunno. Maybe, just maybe, if it's as nice in person as it is in the pics. But that's based on the fact you NEVER see those around here anymore. I'm guessing he bought it out west for 5-6k and drove it out here to hit the lottery.

On a side note, it says C20 (the first truck) but certainly looks 4x4. I can see a leaf spring and a locking hub in one pic. Were they all "C" trucks in that vintage and the "K" designation came about with the square bodies? Just curious.

people are friggin clowns you should jump on that c10!!! its a real bb truck ! to bad that doesnt matter since it doesnt have it anymore lmfao!! the market is just way down for hobbie vehicles i bought the k5 you see in my sig the way it is for 3 grand last year i couldnt build it for double that

If that truck still had a big block, original or not, then it would be worth what he is asking.

The first one, no way I would even look at it based on what I see in the pictures. At that price, what appears to be a repaint, and not in excellent shape I would consider it a 3-4k truck at best with the right buyer.

The second, I don't care if it is an 'original bb truck', it isn't a bb truck with a 350 in it. It is still just like pretty much any other truck from that generation that can be had all over for 1-2k. Just because a BB lived under the hood at one time in it's life, doesn't mean it is still worth the same price.

I'd rather a 307 2bbl with a standard shift so I could drive it places. It's harder to enjoy old cars that cost 100$ to fill up every time you leave your driveway. It depends what you want to use it for though. If you plan on driving it all the time I wouldn't want a big block. Of course I am a poor unemployed college grad, so maybe I should go occupy someplace and hope for some cash?

No, that really isn't the point, it is that the owner is so proud that this is "an original BBC truck", but that really doesn't add anything to the value. Just because something was there, and worked, at some point doesn't make it more valuable. I can't get more for selling my Camaro by saying it originally had working AC anymore than this statement makes the truck any more valuable.
