Is it a 60?

D44, the giveaway is the 2 u-bolts on the pass side.

'77 is the first year of a D60. :wink1:

I thought it looked an awful lot like a 44. Bummer. :( So there's three U-bolts on a 60? Anyone got a good picture of this? I couldn't find one close enough to tell. Thanks for the quick responses guys.

What holds the other half of the passenger side spring plate down? Are there studs in the top of the housing or tapped holes?

Yes.

On a side note, I think some '76 K30's may have slipped through the door, so it is best to always check with your own eyes, not just go by year.

not a 60. 3 u-bolts = dana 60. thats a dana 44.

Don't just look at the u-bolts. A Dodge D44 fits easily under our trucks, especially if it's lifted, and uses 3 u-bolts.

You are, in fact, wrong.

No worries then. Back in indiana I have a friend with 2 closed knuckle (steel covers over the axle joints)d60. he said it was from military cucv's. What would it be from then, it is definitely a dana 60 housing.

I have no idea what they came from, but if you want a guess I'd say an M715 Jeep pick-up. I've heard people call them, and the M880 Dodges (with the aforementioned 3 u-bold D44s), CUCVs. MPVA might be a good place to try and track down info on them. http://www.mvpa.org/mambo/index.php I wish I could offer you more info.
