to find a halfway decent truck anymore? Lately I've been frustrated with my new project 85 k5 and the condition it's in. Floors are completely rotted out, engine bay is full of random unplugged wires (but it still runs), and I keep finding more body rust hidden by the cheap paint job the previous owner did.

I've been thinking of selling it and trying to find something in better condition, but I can't seem to find anything that isn't rusted out and beat down. So I guess what my question is: Is is worth it to buy a complete truck instead of a project when that extra money could be spent fixing the truck? Especially when both are going to be rusty.

For the longest time I swore that I would never buy a vehicle from up north, inless I knew where it came from. I know what you mean about rust, my 92 and 93 are rusty, luckily the floors are rock solid. Fix one spot at a time, dothe hardest one first, then it will be all down hill from there. As for the wiring, get a diagram and rewire it. I'm sure someone here can help with that.....

I definitely plan to rewire it. I have the taillight wires just hanging out behind the bumper, which I'm sure isn't right. I'm sure this thing is doable, I'm just in shock at the exent of work it needs

mine's rusted horribly. there was a thread a while back about rust in the rear and the guy was in the process of fixin it. i haven't even messed with mine yet. think i'm going to do all new cause i'm not even about to use bondo. i hate that stuff. done bodywork for while. i'm not really lookin for looks just no rust
