I have a set of great Alcan 52" inch rear springs that I want to run on a 3/4 ton Suburban that had 56" springs. My thinking is that since I will be uing an ORD shackle flip I can move it forward on the frame 4 inches and be good to go...How stupid is this, really?

If the answer is "really damn stupid" then any other ideas on how to get the 52's onto the sub are welcome.

If they are Alcan's and flex well they will probably outflex the stock 56's. My 6" lift (52") TC rears flex almost as well as my buddies shackle flipped K5 with 56's.

Yeah, it is a 4 inch Superlift 56"ers to a 4"Alcan 52"ers with a hackle flip. The Alcan will out flex the superlift, no doubt about it. What about the reality of moving the shackle flip up 4", any reason why it wouldn't work?

my burb has 56 inch springs but when i put my flip on it had all the holes pre-drilled for 52s...should just be able to bolt it but and go...you might have to grind down a few rivets though
