Is it ok to run extended brake lines with no lift?

I may need to replace my brake lines sooner than I thought. I don't feel like spending $70-$80 on rubber replacement lines if I can put that money toward higher quality ORD extended brake lines. I may or may not ever lift the truck. If it does get lifted, it would probably be in the 2.5"-6" range. Can I run extended lines right now with no lift? I guess it would just be a question of rubbing/hanging up on suspension and brake parts. This truck is not a mudder or crawler. It more of a camping and gravel road rig.

It won't hurt anything to do that but if you go with a super long line I would ziptie the slack to the frame rail so you don't have to worry about your tires hitting them or catching on them when taking a turn.

Yeah, just loop them and zip tie the loop if they are too long.

Agreed. No harm.

I prefer to tie the slack to something like the frame or the shocks. Mine is lifted and I tied mine to the shocks. You can get some zipties from a hardware store that have loop for wiring. They work well for this. Getting them tied back is easy. Getting it tied back right takes a few minutes. You've got to make sure that it will never pull tight when the suspension cycles and that the tires can go lock to lock without rubbing the line.

Last thing, make sure there's no twist in the hose when you tighten the ends. If there is, it'll never go where you want it to.
