is it safe to wheel w/lift blocks?

I disagree! A block is not a block. Some blocks have different tapers to improve pinion angles for different size lift kits. This is taken into consideration when you order a kit. Blocks are also made of different materials. If you miss match or stack blocks you are asking for trouble. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

this is one of the features of this board
handy when used to avoid the confusion you are feeling

I reread this thread again just to be certain
nowhere did I state an opinion as to whether front blocks were good or bad
I stated in response to a 'never do it' that many on this board run em.
why is it asssumed I am 'anti' front blocks?
I think in the past I have stated they are not as evil as some claim and pointed out the numerous examples of OEM front lift blocks in commercial applications.
blocks whether front or back are a bandaid
running the spring pin through them doesnt make them any better no matter who is selling them.

Not always. I'm not saying you should run them, but. (1)The '72 K20 I had had .75" front blocks from the factory. (2) The '88 Peterbuilt 378 I own has factory front blocks in it and it has been inspected by the CHP a couple of hundred times and they don't say anything about the blocks. So are front blocks always bad and unsafe, not always.

Again I'm not saying you should use front blocks.

Bruce,

Check my last post. I was responding to this; http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=1147393&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=all&vc=1

Just as I said; "Totally crazy and illegal in California".

I got to looking & my '95 Cornbinder has 'em too. Califonia CHP has never said anything about mine either. I have a new CVSA sticker, less than a month old to prove it. I really think zero rates are a totally different thing here m j. They are front lift blocks, yet they are not......
