Due to other work I put the K5 aside for a few months and now am ready to try again.
After finishing it up last April I had isues I didn't expect, an oil leak in the rear and a little harder starting after it has sat for more than a week. just a little smoke at startup but as it warms up it smokes more and more as well as when reved up (both sides) No coolant loss, yes oil loss. Now a quick background. 140k miles on the 350, didn't smoke before restomod started. The only engine mods are, Intake, I rebuilt the TB, a TB spacer. and a lot of paint and chrome other than that nothing so I am thinking Intake gasket leak?

Basic troubleshooting demands looking at anything that was changed....

did you use the rubber rear intake seal?

These are notorious for getting knocked out of alignment when installing an intake. (experience talking here...:doah:). Causes a bad oil leak.

Most folks use a thick of O2 sensor safe rtv (for efi use). Just lay in a good, thick bead, wait 20 minutes, and drop the manifold straight down.

isnt too hard to do the intake gaskets, ID try that first.

Any SBC with 140K on it will smoke at startup, it should however last only a second or two.

Was it right after or did it take time to develop afterwards?
