Hey some of you diesel experts, my cruze is sluggish and my ac will not go on max so i figure my vac pump is weak. Are they all the same or is 6.2 and 6.5 different? or is it turbo and na that makes the difference?

is GM 7841746 AC D 215-104 sound like the correct number? the ac delco site sucks worse or better than my pump so I can't tell from it.

Thanks guys

The V belt engine had the vacuum pump oriented like a distributor in a gas engine. The Serpentine engines had a belt driven vacuum pump.

I have 4 distributor style pumps in use currently with no failures in the past 12 years. The one belt driven unit I had lasted for about 500 miles before it seized and I swapped to the other style on that engine.

I suggest you put a vacuum gauge on the line at the pump with the engine running and see what you get. They seem to either work or not, not much in between. If that works you get to start following vacuum lines to the control panel for the HVAC. Then to the vacuum servos. Pulling the glow box lets you get to 2 of them. Unfortunately, the max recirculating servo is under the kick panel. You get to it though by pulling the kick panel. But, you can kind of see it if you twist just right. Have fun.
