"still waiting for my first gen K20"

What would be the first gen for a K20? 1947 or earlier? First gen would refer to the first generation of a new body style right? Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

Mike....good catch! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

What messes everyone up (I think) is the 69-72 K5s being called "1st Gens".... there were PLENTY of pickups and Suburbans build before the first K5 ever rolled off the assembly line, but I think when people see the vehicles that have the same grille and fenders as the early K5's, they call them all "1st Gens".....

BTW -> I don't know WHAT Gen my '72 Burban is.....probably like 7th??? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I've even caught myself referring to the wife's truck as 1st gen when I'm talking about that & the K5. I have to stop & correct myself with "67-72 body style."

Yeah, how long has the suburban been around?

Acually the use of the name suburban for a vehicle dates back to the early 20's or sooner as far as I can find. history

and I stand corrected.
