Is there a difference between early and late window glass?

Getting ready to do the convertible conversion and want to make sure I have everything ready.

Mine is an '89 and I have the door hardware from a 73-75 but not the glass

73-75 have a slightly thicker glass but everyone who does the conversion just uses their original glass. And there is a piece of hardware that supports the window channel at the upper rear of the door. Maybe someone has a pic of it.

Door glass is the same. The difference is the window frame is missing from the top of the vent window to the back lower corner. It appears larger because it's not shrouded by the window frame.

OK I ended up with early glass in my donor doors. Everything was so rusted up that I cut the rollers with a sawsall and pounded the windows up from the open bottom :yikes:

I also have glass in my original doors that is tinted. I'll use it and hold on to the extras

Door glass is different thickness, I’ll get a pic possibly tomorrow of the piece at back of door .

Here’s the bracket at back of door it was originally spot welded to door and window run bracket, it’s also what door cap bolts to.

I have all the brackets, I can't see your pic but there are 2 in each door. One holds the window channel and one strengthens the top of the door.

I also have another windshield frame, door brackets, and a top with a sunroof that I'll be selling
