I am curious about the difference in size/shape of a radiator for a 1984 7.4L Pickup (carb) and for a 1992-99 Suburban with a 7.4L?

Why do I ask? Because I'd like to run the following Flex-a-lite fan setup on my truck (Flex-a-lite 280):

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_73366_-1

And it doesn't list the earlier radiator. I measured my radiator, and it looks to be more like 29 or 30" wide (hard to get a perfect measurement without pulling the shroud) and 19 (or so) inches tall.

Any thoughts on which dual fan electric setup to go with? I'd prefer to go the flex-a-lite route, because they seem to be a complete setup. I had read about the Ford Windstar conversions, but that seems to be more for smallblocks.

Thanks!

Dan

I don't recall anyone in particular saying they were cooling a big block with the Windstar fans, but I'd be optimistic that they would work. Especially for the price you posted!

I'd ask specifically for Windstar fan big block owners. I know on my small block, I only need one of two GM electric fans, and these are fairly old designs. The Windstar setups I would have to assume move even more air.

That is a good site. I like how they list sizes. Hmmm.... that helps a lot. Thanks!
