Is there any difference between 3/4 and one ton truck frames?

I'm going to start looking for a clean standard cab to go with my crew cab and was wondering if there were any differences in the frames and if so, what they were. I recall someone saying the frame rails are spaced closer to each other in the rear? I'm concerned mainly about strength, since its going to get a Cummins just like my Crew Cab is going to. I'll probably use Dodge Dana 60/70's also, so I really don't care about the running gear. Thanks-Nick

Widths are the same. The frame rails are taller by 3/4 -1". The rear spring perch spacing is 40" on 1t , 42.5 on 1/2 & 3/4t. Front spring perch spacing is the same for all three.

Yeah the frame in width are the same the spring hangers are slimmer in the back for the 1 ton bringing the spring closer to the frame.
And the frame is taller and thicker for more strength in the 1 ton, all that will not affect you just give you more strength to put that cummins.
I am doing the same, my perkins, same size and power as a cummins, has destroyed my K5 frame so I am putting it in a crewcab 1 ton.

only 2 real diffrences for you will be with beefyer frame. taller frame with diferent tcase crossmember diffrence. and the rear spring hangers diffrence like said. if me get the one ton frame if i had the choice.
