I have an 85 k5 with the 700r4/208 combo. The 208 is clunking and I'd like to have a 205. I've seen kits that involve tearing the tranny down and changing output shafts, but is there alternatives? I'm wondering about doublers or can you change the input of the Tcase. A friend even mentioned puting a yoke on the tail of the tranny and divorcing the 205. My plans for the truck in the future involve very abusive use, 38s or 40s, rock crawling, and so on. But I'd like to retain some highway manners. I know I may be asking alot there, but its worth asking.

IIRC a 1" spacer will make it work with a 205 that came behind a th350.
I have one of those but you are too far.

can you post a pick of it, I can make a spacer at work if I get the jist of what it looks like. should be pretty straight forward though:waytogo:

I tried the search button , but all i got were people saying whats in their rig. figured it was easier to ask.
