Well it's got two passenger side ubolts so most likely. It's definitely not a 10 bolt.

The knuckles are definitive.
Balljoints: Dana 44
Kingpins: Dana 60

The lower right side web (under the web that you cleaned up and 5 numbers are visible) will most likely say "44F" in raised characters just like the upper web.

Yes its a D44. The cover is the dead giveaway.

OK its a D44 is that stock for blazers cause that is what it came out of? I have owned a couple of K-5s now but they have all been stock. I just looked at my blazer and the front diff looks a little different. The reason im wondering about this is i blew my rear end out and scored a nice new set of 3.73 gears so i have been without 4 wheel drive for about 8 months and with winter here i would like to use it again and this new D44 came with 3.73 gears and a lift.

Thanks

Up to 77 or so, the D44 was used. It has been known to find one later than that, but 10 bolts appeared for the 78 model year.

Also the possibility is huge that it could have been swapped into the blazer.

Up to '82 in GMC's and up to '79 in Chevy's, yes.

In Blazers, they're 6 lug pattern.

Some '77 and up in Chevy's run the 10 bolts. GM used both axles in the trucks and phased them out to use the 10 bolt.

10 bolts are more plentiful, if both units are comparable apples to apples, use the one thats in the vehicle.

If the 10 bolt has 3.73's in it and its in the truck, I'd say run it, unless it has problems somewhere in it. If it has problems and the 44 is sound there is your answer.
The 3.73's you got for the rear, are they brand new or used? I think used gears can be tougher to setup.
Have you considered stepping up to a 3/4t 14bff? Should be able to find those all day with 3.73's in them, and you'll never break it.
