Its a fair price, especially if you can pick it up and if you have problems they will only be a drive away. I have had many a 700 rebuilt in the past for the same price with kevlar bands, 13 vane pump, corvette servos, etc...you know all the goodies. But my tranny shop got used to me, after a while, I think I was geting a frequent customer discount. 
That was until I firgured the hell with these damn trannies, dumped it for my 400 and never looked back.

You need to ask them if it is a 4x4 tranny... It says Chevy,GMC and Pontiac.. I have never seen a Pontiac 4x4 so it leads me to believe that is for a 2 wheel drive...Just something to think about..
call them and tell them what its for and what you will be doing with it. ask and inform them and your self before buying any big item.
