For a freind this is the only pic I have, it is from a Dana 70 out of a mid 70s Dodge tug(the kind used to pull airplanes around) , rear axle. Pretty sure it is a 70U.


Is it a locker or limited slip, and which type, like I said I haven't seen it myself this is the only pic I have of it

2 piece carrier, most likely a powerlock (70's). Early detroits for the d70 were 2 piece carriers, could be a detroit.
 
Is that a coil spring you can see through the diff windows? If so, probably a Detroit.
 
ya, it would make sense for it to be a detroit, id imagine you would want 2 tires pulling an airplane, one might get a little angry with all that weight.
