So im in the process of changine my tranny pump seal and when i take a look at the torque converter, I see this.

Would it be bad if i just left it like this and put it back in the tranny?

well it looks like i will be replacing the torque converter anyways because its cracked.

Looks to me like the bearing is toast, those scuffs aren't from the seal surface.

I'd be careful about where that paint is worn as well, where the snout is welded to the converte...when they are rebuilt, if they aren't done right, the seal can actually rub on that weld. BTDT.

Didn't notice that. man this sucks...i just got the tranny rebuilt about 2 years ago.
 
2nd on the pump bushing needs 100% checked out. lots o work to pull it all out again if you try and slap on a band aid now. :crazy:
